After reading and watching several YouTube videos about rebuilding, I have been left to believe there is an area that deforms in trucks that requires a reaming out and press fitting to tighten it up. That is not easy and without this repair the units can perform poorly and even leak.
I would...
So the obligatory question is...
You were screwing it in, and went too deep, and now you can't pull it out?
Never thought I would hear such words.
Hope your cut and stitches heal up good.
Best,

I have never had faith in re-treads, and these appear to be re-treads.
What's safety worth?
Now I know tons of people buy retreads, and lots of people might respond to tell me they have only driven re-treads AND they swear by them. And that's OK. I'm going on my personal experience.
I had a...
Perhaps there are no chickens, but the OP does indeed have a chicken-coop installed for all to see, and I think that might attract unwanted attention from the powers that be unless he is at a military show.
[EDIT - beautiful HMMWV]
My insurance company asked if I had a chickencoop installed as they might not have wanted to insure if I had it.
As far as local regulations, none that I'm aware of in NY

I'm sure there are a few off color jokes about that I could make in a bar over a beer regarding that statement Milcomm.
I recall somewhere reading about connecting some wires backwards causing some glowplug burnout issue, but today I'm old and pre-Alzheimers and I have forgotten to take my Aricept.
This is an awesome idea and an awesome program, and Guyfang, I'm happy to see it is also international.
I have friends in NYFD, NYPD, construction, sanitation, and I think a program like this is such a great idea that I will mention to my associates to see if we can follow the lead of the OP...
I said it previously, and I was flamed by the OP, but I still feel this was unnecessarily risky and poorly thought out.
I notice the OP implies he did not drive the whole way in the pictured configuration, and I wonder if that implies problems with the load shifting. I hope the OP addresses...
1 - use the older title. The closer a vehicle is to 30 years of age, the better.
2 - From what I recall from posts a year ago, at least one poster to this forum mentioned that when HMMWV's underwent rebuild, new data plates and titles were sometimes issued using the year of the rebuild.
If I am out of line, please delete this thread.....
After reading the following link (and countless others), I got to thinking:

We keep crying to the same old song...
I've been lurking on this thread for a while, and I just don't get it. Not in a bad way, but why swap awesome looking HMMWV rims?
Now one of the things I believe in is that everyone should customize the way they see fit, so this is not me saying not to do it. It is just that one of the things I...
I have an excellent idea of hack jobs and surplus and what happens when vehicles sit outside unattended.
Not looking for a confrontation here, just saying that these vehicles have too many red flags IMHO. Obviously you disagree, and that's cool, but I think something bad is going on with this...
