    turn signal cancel ring

Might I suggest a few thin coats of dark green automotive spray paint? Just like with hidden rear lights on modified classic cars, it will darken the light but not totally kill it. Or a few pieces of 30% window tinting

Ongoing Log Of My 1987 HMMWV

Drives well on highway. Straight and true. Now I understand why people go aftermarket on wheels. At 55 MPH car drives straight but in turning to change lanes she has a bit of a yaw. Also gonna get her realigned. I can see how going with stiffer sidewalls and plus sized rims will improve the...

Finally roadworthy! Drives straight. No wheel hop. Glow plug light stopped working. Vehicle starts though so maybe light blew, but we will find out in the AM. [EDIT-light works great. Engine must have been warm yesterday. Works perfectly now]. Gotta paint the 24 bolt rims black. Tan ruins my...

So, I usually prefer OE/OEM. I called RWH, and he said I need to change out my steering column in addition to steering wheel to use OE ring. Lots a work. Lots a $. SO. decided to make a wooden ring of correct size, cut in half and hold to the steering wheel with screws and epoxy, and drill a...

Buying a humvee off of gov planet

Russojap, my comments reflect my opinion of the YouTube video, and in no way are meant as a comment on you. Just tried to watch this video... Not even into the video one minute (like Coug) and I'm convinced this guy is an idiot. His claims are based on ignorance. HMMWV's were never a...

Buying a humvee off of gov planet

This vehicle ain’t for you Far from me to tell someone not to buy a HMMWV, but you should NOT buy a HMMWV. Now I think I see what happened. You’ve had some tough times and you see a vehicle for cheap and you think it’s gonna work right out of the gate, so you figure you’ll turn it into a...

Drivetrain from early m998 to newer 6.5 turbo and 4l80e trans with new t-case

Juan Prado has the same setup with claims of the same speeds. There is a remanufacturer in Cali that makes the same claims for the same speeds. Alls I know is my mechanic is a Diesel mechanic and a marine Diesel mechanic and a rally car builder on top of all of that, so I go with what he says...

Drivetrain from early m998 to newer 6.5 turbo and 4l80e trans with new t-case

BLK is correct about RTW/Retired War Horses. If you want to place a 4 speed or do other things, he is a FMV restoration specialist. You should talk with him

Drivetrain from early m998 to newer 6.5 turbo and 4l80e trans with new t-case

I agree with one major exception. 6.5 and 6.2 are similar in normally aspirated vehicles, but a turbocharger on a 6.5 will make vehicle able to drive more effectively at higher elevation. That means acceleration and top speed at higher elevations with a turbo will be somewhat better. That being...

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Lots of thanks to go out here... Coincidently, my mechanic had purchased Moog [EDIT - for the ball joints], and they seem to be manufactured in USA, and that's what's going into my vehicle. I was happy to see more positive reviews here on SS. Juan, Wire Fox, Dock Rocker, THANKS! I used...
