Did the military use run flats in any M939A2?

. So, I am not the person with all the answers - but the little bit of reading I have done says - the lube is to resolve potential motion inside the tire (friction) by the runflat.

    Dual Circuit Brake Engineering Thread

. That seems like a good way to save your bacon if there was a "fluid failure" at the front or back of the truck. It would give you the ability to stop rather than losing all braking for sure!

    Dual Circuit Brake Engineering Thread

. If I remember correctly, the "79ish" Chevrolet pickup trucks have (had?) a proportioning valve in the brake system just below the master cylinder. There is a "rubber button" on the front of it and if the front or rear brake lines exploded, the functional part of the brake system would still...

1995 1078 NOS ctis inflating tires to 80psi and flashing over speed at 30mph

. My horn upgrade to fix my M1088 might be more exciting if the OverSpeed kicked in. Truck sounded like the old Plymouth Superbird - with that puny MeepMeep horn. My solution was an air horn with an electric solenoid. Disconnected the toy horn, used a spade connector, and ran a new wire out...

Advice needed - new guy with MEP004A

. That is great news! We have a few pieces of equipment here in the printshop that needs 230v, some things need 208 and a few and 240. The solution to our building power from the street was installing our own transformers from 480, and we make our own power from that. A set of Buck Boost...

    Registering in Colorado

. There are companies that buy surplus and fix them. Expect 3x or 4x the cost of a GovPlanet vehicle - BUT - the folks who do that work warrant their work. Most (but not all) generally do more than squirt paint on it and send it out the door. The old saying "putting lipstick on a pig" comes to...

    Registering in Colorado

. I don't want to bust your bubble, but with a truck that you bought and paid cash for - and the bank doesn't want to be a part of what you want to do - you might get by with it. I think you would be better off to find a state that isn't like Colorado. One of the free states where the state...

    MEP 804B

. Welcome to the Outfit! There are quite a few really sharp guys here who work on and repair generators. Several of them offer repair parts too. Troubleshooting guides are in the Technical Manuals (TM's) and it might help if you have those free books downloaded to your computer or phone or...

WA Hagerty comes through - again

. Agreed! My insurance agent offered that coverage to me several years ago. I just couldn't refuse it. That much coverage for that little bit of premium is a nice way to CYA the right way! It isn't very often that I feel like I got a good deal on insurance. This is/was for sure...

    New T813 Owner

. That sounds like fun. I keep thinking that maybe when I retire, that might be an option. Camping is a nice way to kick back and unwind for sure!

    G506 Class 525 (G7133) restore

. Definitely "Bubble Gum" welding - but that made your job a lot easier...

    New T813 Owner

. Hi Kuso, Got a little work to do - but hey - all of us end up fixing stuff. Scraping and Chipping rust was one of the first things I had to do on my truck. Glad to hear that you found what you wanted! Do you have a particular job for it - or is this a fun truck? Tim Mullaney

Looking Good!! It appears that everyone had a nice big truck adventure.

    MEP-803A Repair Assistance

. An old stove also works REALLY WELL to keep welding rods warm and dry. When the coating is dry and clean - makes all the difference in weld quality. Lowest possible setting in the oven...

    M718A1 Project

. Wow!! That really looks great! Maybe you could capture a short video of it running... Have to post it to YouTube and then link it here. Still it would be neat to see.

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

. Maybe, Maybe Not. There are folks who believe that you MUST have some sort of "incredible travel" in your axle movement if you have that much wheel clearance... The other choice is a weekend to add or remove blocks and steering (drag link) components... Heck, ride it around for a week or...

    Registering in Colorado

. I have said it before and I guess we should at least discuss it: Considering getting a title for your vehicle in another state? There are military vehicles that can't be titled in certain states. There are sports cars that can be titled for less in some states than others. There you go...

Hmmm..do you like low flying aircraft?....then here ya go!

. Wow!! That first pass looks like a fighter when he pulled up and banked hard right! . . The pylons make this last one look even lower than it really is... .

    Alternator conversion Kit

DHennon , Sadly Wolverine is a fairly known problem supplier of alternators and alternator parts. (Not a Vendor here!) There are at least a half dozen negative threads about them (him?). Several folks have gotten product that worked - but many more that have not - at least here.
