120 Lb, 18 year-olds fought and won WWII. I would challenge our current generation of 18 year-olds to have as much sense of duty.
God bless the Greatest Generation.
I can affirmatively attest that it WAS deployed and employed in the field during the Vietnam Conflict.
Downed Pilots were on several occasions recovered by this extraction method. The kit could be dropped through the jungle canopy, and without a large LZ as required for extraction by...

I am not an expert on engine sounds but...
I know that touch-n-go's are not exactly "LOW FLYING", but you've got to admit, when you're doing it is a C-5 it IS impressive....

I didn't mean to seem harsh. I am just sometimes amazed that some threads - trains of thought if you will - sort of run their course after a while. Then, someone searching out their own needed answers stumbles upon a dormant thread and either contributes new wisdom or simply makes their mark...
WOW --- FIVE+ years since the last post and this thread suddenly gets resuscitated. All the input is good. Don't get me wrong.
Thanks for the allen plug suggestion.
To satisfy your curiosity, Sir....
Not long after getting the Deuce, the Soft Top started to shed the insulation from its inside surfaces. The layer of black foam was breaking down and a fine black grit would circulate in the cab whenever there was a breeze... as in driving over 15-20 mph...
WOW - It's hard to believe that this thread had gone dormant for some seven weeks!
Not to toss y'all an excuse, but in that time we've been spending time helping Dianna's mom search for and purchase a retirement home here in San Angelo, (retiring over the next three years from Alamogordo, New...
On Thursday of this week, we dragged our newly acquired M818 5-Ton Tractor home in a successful recovery mission.
Will be posting an AAR (After Action Report) in our thread about the truck...here...
On Thursday of this week, I worked our Deuce HARD.... Took her on a 110+ road trip from San Angelo to Midland, TX to recover our recently acquired M818 Tractor.
Will soon be posting an AAR (After Action Report) in the thread about the M818.....
Watch for the AAR here...

Are you talking to one of the registration clerks or to the actual County Tax Assessor/Collector? If only a clerk, then schedule an appointment with the ELECTED OFFICIAL in charge of the process - the County Tax Assessor/Collector. If in talking to him/her you are still not satisfied...
Though not exactly "Low Flying", this is certainly one mission that requires precision and skill.....

This is FANTASTIC!!!!!!
I can hear the pilots praying, "No wind God, please no wind!"
... I'm sitting in the safety of my home and can...
First of all.....
Welcome aboard :D Find a bunk, stow your gear, and prepare to get underway :driver:
Now that that's been said.....
My best advice is to read and digest the Texas FMV Laws thread linked in my signature block below.
Much research and time was invested in that thread so that...
Good advice has already been rendered, but I'd like to add......
Welcome aboard :D Find a bunk, stow your gear, and prepare to get underway :driver:
