MRAP wheels will not fit a 5 ton or the M915 series either. Leave it to the contractors not to standardize. I think there was a previous thread about recentering those wheels.
The MRAP axles have been selling off GL the last few weeks.....if I had the money I would consider buying some for...
Any engine painted yaller is going to cost you big money when it breaks.
I love driving trucks with CATs in them.....as long as the other guy is footing the fuel and repair bills.
A 60 Series Detriot would be the cats azz in my M927.
You can start them and drive them up on a stepdeck.......you just can't drive them off the GL site and across the base to get out the gate.
I doubt if they will let you flat tow them with another vehicle (assuming you had a big enough vehicle and a Heavy towbar (takes two or three guys to hook...
Some sort of modification.......could be an OPFOR vehicle and may have been headed for the National Training Center at Fort Irwin (located in the first ring of ell).
Hey Ryan....how bout I come up for a vist in the M927 and park it next to your deuce......I think your truck needs a "companion animal".
After they sat side by side the dude might just decide your truck isn't so big after all.rofl
Welcome to the Green Iron Laughing Accademy.:cookoo:
12 step programs are for quitters.
Come into OD green light, it's soooooooooooo beautiful........................ZZZZAAAAAAAAAPPPPPPP!!!!!!
250 Cummins engines are cheap right now if you get them before they head to Mexico.
PM Csmdavis at Hattiesberg.....he's in the catbird seat for M900 series parts.
I only watched the ones in J'ville.....I knew the ones in NC would go high due to numbers.
By my count there are three SS members that got one. Two going to OK and one to IN.
Still a steal at those prices.......it blew my mind when the PLS trucks went so cheap at Fort Jackson a while back.
I had most of those Jacksonville trucks on my Watch List and a credit card with zero balance on it standing by.
There were 24 complete units and four Power Units at J'ville (although in the pics all of them had trailers attached).
Average price per unit was $15,000.00
Highest price paid...
What about one of the vestibule tents to go with the trailer.
You would be protected from the weather and have more privacy.
The bunk could be built into the trailer or you could use cots.
A floor in the tent would protect from dirt and creepy crawlers.
Those of you who are familiar with...
The tanker version would be your ideal vehicle but they are made of Unobtainium and I have never seen one for sale on the surplus market.
Oshkosh sold a version for fire fightin but I can't find any pics.
You might contact OSHKOSH directly and ask if they have some for sale.......it's my...
Go talk to Mr Asshat and try the compromise approach.
Tell him:
You are a decorated combat veteran that uses the truck to honor other veterans.
It is not a commercial vehicle and is not used as such.
You are a resonable person and are sure he is too.
Ask for an Exception to Policy and...
The Army version of the HEMMT is hard to find on the surplus market.
They were never manufactured in the numbers that deuces and 5 tons were....and as stated above many of them have been or will be rebuilt.
Finding a turn key HEMMT will prob be difficult......and the logistics of owning one...
This is what it says about said vehicle (no specific sale or item mentioned):
Recovering one of these vehicles will be an exercise in logistics. Blount Island is located a long way from the GL site I'm familiar with. It may be an unmanned site. There will be a lot of coodination required...
Thick stuff can be diluted. My duece elixer uses diesel, gas, WVO and WMO.
Unless you have good clean veggie you can just go with gas and WMO. Depending on how thick the WMO you have is determines how much you dilute it.
While there are folks on here that run straight WMO I would not go with...
