When I was in Korea the last time (1994) the Koreans were knocking off every kind of truck and piece of construction equipment they could get their dirty dik beaters on.
Dawoo had a knock off of a SCANIA four axle dump truck that got them sued.
I saw a lot of the Korean deuces and they...
A 5 ton can be split shifted just like a deuce......you need to lube the linkage very good so it will shift smoothly.
It is a good cure for the assinine gap in the gearing in the high side.
You can prob still get the stock pipes and muffler from Dodge but my guess is that it would be very pricey.
Any decent muffler shop can fab up an exhaust system that will be close to stock.
The stock exhaust was a single muffler......I'd replace it with duals for better performance and...
Whole M915's are selling for less than a million mile plus pull out 400 engine.
You'll spend more on repowering a 800 series truck than you can get a M915 for.
What the M915 lacks in looks it makes up for in pulling, road speed and comfort compared to the M818.
Let's do some math......you have a loaded truck with a 250 Cummins in it and you need to bug out.....5 gallons of fuel gets you maybe 25 miles (downhill with a tailwind). If you have one one each side that's 50 miles....yes this could mean the difference between getting to your destination or...
Even WMO can create problems.....if some distracted dufus rear ends you and smashes the can then there is going to be black oil all over the scene...some other dufus is going to scream for the HAZMAT crew (even though WMO is technically Non-Haz) and every first responder in a ten mile area is...
Not actual fenders........rear mudflaps.
IMHO mounting cans of fuel on the rear of a slow moving vehicle is a recipe for disaster.
Too many distracted drivers out there.
To quote myself......."it was a hoot".
I had a great time and met some good folks.
Thousands of people came out to cheer the returning Iraqi/Afgan soldiers and to honor other vets from all eras.
Here are some pics I took.
Welcome to the Green Iron Laughing Accademy.:cookoo:
Make plans now to come down to the GA Rally in Oct. There will be a thread posted soon.
It is the premier SS rally in the country and you will be immersed in the Green Iron Madness.......you'll meet some great people, eat some good food...
My guess is that he will spend more getting it to New York than he paid for it.
The options are:
Hire someone with a CDL to bobtail it to NY. Count on a high fuel bill and a few hundred bucks for the driver.
Have it shipped on a stepdeck with another vehicle to keep the cost...
A big farm tractor with forks or bucket loader could move it if you don't have a truck tractor.
Wrap a chain around the kingpin and raise it up with the loader.......you should be able to manuver it around.
Did you talk to Justin Wehring? I think he has a museum.
Has it been cut up yet or is it's fate sealed?
A dam shame but it is what it is.
We know you did your best to find it a decent home.
