Pay as you go is fine......we have a pretty good track record of pre-buying enough stuff for the rally and actually making a profit. Last years profit went into buying the loaner tent that Streamline provided so that we can have a covered area to sit and eat in again this year.
We appreciate...
I still have a butt load of the laminated glass panes that can be cut to fit MV's.
I'll bring some with me to the rally.
Should still have some of the green wooden shipping boxes too.
I have the 8.3 in my M927 and it is still wimpy even though it has a turbo.
The M915 is the only truck the Army every had that would run with the big civy trucks......the 16 speed CAT provided the gearing the 400 Cummins needed to get out there and stroll.
We convoyed them to CA from GA and...
It is not hard to remove/install the CTIS but be aware some of the internal parts are made of brittle Unobtanium and prone to breakage......that's why in the Army it was not drivers echelon to change the tires.....they had to be changed by a mechanic that was certified (had been sent to a class)...
If you lean far enough south you can buy a jam up one.
I bought her with the intention of working her like a rented mule but she is too dam pretty.
She has been the center of attention at three shows and will be on display at the MVPA convention in Huntsville, AL next week.
See the details...
When I am thinking about a modification I use a tape measure........measure twice, cut once.
Relocating the spare to the bed is easy....getting it off and on is another issue....but there are bed mounted cranes that can do the job.
You do not want to be out on the road in a truck with super...
Be aware that that 8.6 engine is notorious for the fuel shut off solinoid to de=energize and keep the truck from cranking......the little nipple looking thing sticking out of the solinoid housing should be pushed back up in there for it to crank. It is the black, round thing sitting at an angle...
I posted the thread about only getting the Phoenix number no matter which site you went to.
Just one more firewall you have to breech to get something you need......I have the numbers of the sites I use the most.
The new site was designed by an idiot after consulting with a group of...
Too dam hot this time of year.
Maybe in the early spring......April is about 6 months from the Oct rally.
How about if we hold it at the CAMO compound?
The GA Rally is coming up in Oct.
Good food (we set up a military kitchen trailer), good fun and plenty of MV's.
It is the premier SS rally in the country.......be there or be square.
A lot of the FL riff raff come up for it.......I'm sure they would let you tag along.
Well......if you're going to practice for urban warfare East St. Louis would be one of the best places to go (along with Detroit, South Chicago and East LA).
Most states give you a couple of days to plate a vehicles if you have the paperwork to prove you just picked it up (your milage may vary).
Insurance is another animal.....most of the time they want a VIN in order to cover you. You might have a VIN on your invoice or not. Sometimes you can get a...
Contact SS member rickycotto.......he used a trucker out of Orlando to get his trucks from my LZ to Jacksonville, Fl to ship to Puerto Rico.
You might catch the trucker on a back haul from VA to get your truck back to Orlando.
I have a cheap motel that will give convention rates to us......36 bucks a night if you do min three nights. It is south on Memorial Parkway about 8 miles from the convention center.
It ain't the Hilton but it's clean, cheap and is owned by a veteran.
PM for contact info.
