Iowa NG takes very good care of their equipment. Little used much maintained. State built inside storage in the 90s for most vehicles (duce and smaller) belonging to units.
Beat the heck out of swinging a shovel. But if you want HMMWV size holes don't be in a big hurry. The front bucket was worthless, backhoe not so bad. BII also encluded a hyd. chainsaw, rock drill, and couple other tools.
German (Mercedes). US agent was Case (as in tractors).
Strip down...
The socialists in Wi certainly get ALL the gov't they want and pay for. One idiotic idea after another. This is no doubt to reduce carbon or some similar BS.
Wrong. Demostrate the source of a broken bolt. Where it came from or where manufactured. Once installed a bolt is a bolt.
Provenance issues on fasteners became a huge problem in aviation more than 20 years ago with fradulently marked crap coming in from the Far East. You absolutely can't...
The Army still issue messkits (and shelter 1/2)? IA NG did as late as 1999. Two most useless items in the CIF issue/duffle bag. The poncho being a close runner-up.
That would be - Modern Burner Units (MBU). What is the story with DOD surplusing MBUs? In new condition. I don't think has even been 10years since DOD adopted these diesel heaters to replace the old gas burners.
"Home?" How about shop/garage/shed/guy cave? To run a lathe or other machine tool. To run a ground source heat pump or any "real" motor.
If you do anything electrical beyond running Susie Homemaker's junk you need 3ph. Man up guy. Grunt like Tim the Toolman Taylor and get REAL...
You'll just have to go thru your state surplus property office and negotiate what they are going to charge you for doing a little paperwork. Obviously a lot of good stuff would be available (everything that shows up at govliquidation). Certainly unlimited qty at Ft Lewis and in the Puget Sound...
You don't need to be at .mil website. If you can't see may need to contact your web provider.
drms website is more interesting to prowl around than the Sears Christmas catalog when you were 6 years old (16 with a Playboy). And if you're with a Fire Dept you can request (and perhaps get) most...
Anyone know anything about this truck? Looks like std cab and M101 trailer box.
FD says was an experimental 5/4t they recieved from DOD surplus. Data plate 3000lb payload. They say they use for wildland fire w/300gal water tank. I asked for additional info/photos.
Windsor Ma FD...

Dodge is as easy to drive to as any post the Army has. Good access from I80/35. Small post and easy to get around.
If you're going north I'd recommend not planning on getting on I80/35 until you're familiar with the truck (if at all). I'd take Hi69 which runs parallel to I35 (lies about 2...
The NDCC tires are as safe as the OEM tires on a Model A. Some things need to go in the dustbin of history. Redesigning the brake system, retrofit a modern dash with airbags, etc is a bit difficult. Decent tires are the most important single safety item on a vehicle.
And when you need new...
There are many 6 wheel Polaris Ranger in use with FD for wildland/brush use. Typical 80gal tank (+pump, misc equipment, 2x firefighters). Reportedly hold up quite well and MUCH better than any similar ATV out there. In particular much better than the JD Gator (golf course toy).
