Yes, Richard. I can imagine that those of the SS who have signed on for that convoy into heaven are our advance party - scouting some trails, laying out the bivouac area, staking the latrine, and siting the best MKT pad. "When we all get to heaven, what a day of rejoicing that will be!!!...."
It is with a very heavy heart that I announce to these Forums that SS Member ELKHUNTER http://www.steelsoldiers.com/member.php?7600-elkhunter also known as Walter or Walt Johnson, has passed away.
His beloved wife, Phyllis posted this to their facebook page just about 12 hours ago:

We won't be rolling with this convoy but will gladly be on standby should assistance be needed within our Area of Operation.

"What did you do to your deuce this week?"
Well, west Texas has been blessed with some moisture and this winter winds down into spring and the fresh crop of spring weeds and grass varieties has sprouted well and healthy. I had already mowed once last week, but this...
EVERY MV owner and/or operator is an AMBASSADOR for the HOBBY whether we choose to act as one or not.
What example would such a person set if they were to violate the operating parameters of their vehicle and cause serious injury or death to an "innocent bystander"???

I know of a Deuce near here that has front axle problems that sound very similar to what's described above...
When it's front axle is air-engaged it drives fine going straight, but when turning it'll YANK the steering wheel violently...
I had noticed that truck in its auction.
I had considered some various scenarios that could have caused that steer axle separation.
My conclusion was that the truck looks better than the driver's hemorrhoids probably do.
PUCKER FACTOR 17 on a scale of 1-10.
By the way, do you know where the name BUICK came from??
Remember the yellow/gray and pink/gray Buicks of the 1950's and 1960's...... When most people saw those colors they frequent retched, doubled over and vomited with a loud B-U-I-C-K sound!!!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buick#VentiPorts
A traditional Buick styling cue dating to 1949 is a series of three or four vents on the front fender behind the front wheels. The source of this design feature was a custom car of Buick stylist Ned Nickles...
I'm guessing that whoever drilled those holes had a BUICK fetish. Buick designers thought those hood/fender-faux-exhaust-ports made their cars "look" as fast as a P-51 Mustang fighter plane.
B I N G O ! ! !

It's always good to know some of the history of our Green Iron.
Although the purchase is still being negotiated, this info will arm me - kinda like holding the Ace of Spades in a card game.
Thank you.
