The M149 is basically just a M105 with a different body. Those all have air brakes. Unless you hook it up to an air source, then unhook it. It will drag just fine and free.
If you are pulling it with a 1 ton civi truck. Take along a hilift jack because the landing leg won't let the tongue...
Your email arrived at 8:59. I posted above at 9:02. Sorry for not reading your email fast enough.
Thanks for the part numbers and the look on the parts truck.
Camping is the plan and each person taking care of their own meals. Lunch on Saturday is the meal I was writting about.
It just came to me. We can hit Midnight Yell too.
I agree that it is probably a belt loose. However, it could also be the 10 amp maroon fuse at the very bottom of the fuse block not making continious contact. It is a good idea to un plug the batteries, pull each fuse one by one, clean the contacts ont he block and the fuse and repeat for all...
Clean the end of the plug too. Mine was intermittent, then constant. I did the checks in the -20 and put in a new sensor. All good for about a month and then it started coming on every now and then. I cleaned the plug, crimped it a hair with pliers and now all is good again.
I don't think his issue is the heater core putting out heat. Moving the stock slide to the far left takes care of that. It is the ambient air coming in that is killing his add on a/c effectiveness if I understand him correctly.
I don't know how everybody else's wiring runs for this switch, but mine goes through the floor at the tcase shifter housing. Mine is just sandwiched between the cover and the floor. Real easy to ground out if it ever has been tugged on or moved around.
While we are talking about the...
Also keep in mind that if you got this drip from locking in the front hubs and driving around. It is probably just crud on the seal and shaft. Unlock the hubs and drive it like normal for work. A drip or two a day isn't going to run out a quart any time soon. For times when you have it in...
The air comes in all the time from the cowling between the hood and glass. I assume this question came up because your add on a/c is blowing cold and you have a flow of fresh hot air coming out either the floor or the defrost vents? Besides finding a civi resurculation door, housing and...
I happened to catch the end of the OU game yesterday while waiting for the race to start. OU is going to be in Kyle Field the Saturday of our Rally. The time of the game has not been set yet because of tv. If it is a mid day game, we might not be able to go anywhere to eat without being in a...
The switch is on top of the tcase above the passenger side of the case. I find it easier to put the lever in 4wd low, put one arm in over the front drive shaft and the other hand coming in from the back to get the plug off. The -20 only list ways of testing the switch if the light isn't coming...
Welcome to the fun. Probably the best thing you could do is click on the CUCV forum and then read the FAQ thread for CUCV's sticky. The manuals will be listed out in there, troubleshooting, common faults and basically everything you need to know about operating, repairing and using the vehicle.
We will have children there, so as long as you consume in a polite way, not a problem. Most of the camp fires at these kind of events are attended by people who drag a cooler over to the fire with their chairs.
Might be a M715 owner from Lindale coming down.
I actually had to buy that one since my spares were messed up in some way or another. Saturn Surplus is where that one came from.
I would make a suggestion however. Get a vernier type (Like in an airplane) throttle from a generator. The movement of the 6.2 throttle shaft is way more...
5 ton trucks, prime movers, CCKW's and all kinds of new and old vehicles were in service when the 105 came out in 1951 or so (I don't have "the book" here at work, so I can't tell you the exact year they came out). Things were not nearly as standardized as now.
There is the museum that a lot of members here are members of:
MILITARY MUSEUM OF TEXAS
There is also the MVPA.
Then you have the Steel Soldiers here on this site. Welcome to the fun!
With all that you have done. Just about the only thing left not listed is your brake hoses. Your left one could have a constriction not releasing pressure that will build as you drive and create heat or your right one could be swelling when you apply pressure or have a constriction in it...
Mike,
Surface prep is going to make or break the paint job. If you have bare metal, prime it, sand the primer once it dries in about 15-30 minutes. The higher the number on the sand paper, the finer and smoother it will be. The higher number also means it will take longer. 180-280 is just...
I tried searching, but "fire" seems to be a very popular word on the search base. Anyway, I know I have seen a thread about what size the military bottle was that fits right into the brackets on our trucks. Anybody remember what size it is and if there is a civilian product of similar size...
