My local NAPA has the anti-algae on the shelf, called Bio-Kleen, made Power Service, in a white bottle shelved with other diesel fuel treatments. A different local auto parts store may have it also.
My shut-off solenoid acts the exact same way. Doesn't work when run out of fuel, but seemingly...
I don't think the shut-off solenoid will pull back to the run position until the engine is actually cranked (?). I have run my truck out of fuel several times, the most recent being yesterday, because I suck. I used to be able to blame it on a non-functioning fuel gauge, which now works...
In the title. Seemingly more difficult to find than I anticipated. Mine is so worn I can't even replicate it. Any advice is appreciated, thanks.
Would have put into "Parts Wanted" section, but I am not necessarily seeking one directly from an individual. Just a source call out is enough.
The crane is made by Vestil, you can get it in galvanized which I liked but I wanted to weld on it easily (without dying) and have paint be able to stick, which I have yet to do. It pivots with a one finger push even when loaded, and has a friction type locking lever built into the base.
The...
Added a pivoting bed crane. Decent unit, has a tapered roller bearing in the base. Fully removable to store away. Also used 24V winch which can be added and removed without tools. Power to be supplied via slave cable (thanks for the idea WildChild467).
Thank you for pic fix.
It was likely a water intrusion concern. At the time, the likelihood of water entering the oil with a vent was higher than the gear oil getting warm enough to need venting. We go through the same issue today regarding vehicle ECU's we manufacture. Different OEM's have different takes on...
I like the 10 wheeler setup, but don't want to lose my working CTIS. I just purchased a second Garwood 20k hydraulic winch for the rear of my M925A2. It will drop right between the frame rails just behind the rear axle under the bed. Use 24V solenoid valve block to actuate. Want to change...
Typical cost of a full running replacement 6CTA8.3 is in the range of $1000-$4000, depends upon how patient you are. Good boy on asking before you buy. May be cheaper and for sure less work to pass and find another running truck, price dependent of course. I don't have a list of the $1000...
You're lucky the truck started at all, let alone drove 1 foot. 4 batteries are for cold starting, has nothing to do with usage of the slave port. Typically don't assess engine health via disassembly, rather use quantitative methods. Good luck.
You don't know it needs head gaskets. I'm banking that everything filled with water from sitting outside, and that the fuel tank dip tube is plugged shut with uglies.
Good job on oil change and batteries, you should be 2/3 of the way there. Find out the connection type for the fuel inlet...
Looking to add a rear winch to my 925. Considering to mount the same front winch, at the rear, between the frame rails and just ahead of the last frame cross tie.
Have a decent lead on a winch, but it does not include a hydraulic motor. How much do these hydro motors typically sell for...
Setting something hot onto something flammable is not advised. Should use a sand base, or at least a piece of ceramic board from your local home improvement store. Thanks again for lunch today. No hot peppers next time. :not worthy:
I'm not sure, but that may be somebody's home-made deal. Those crimp connectors and different colored wire are not typical of military issue. Regardless, the lower solenoid looks in much worse condition than the top via corrosion, and the small black wire on the lower can seems over-heater at...
