I have a color picture of me and my deuce in Germany in 1975. I was in Signal unit near Frankfurt.
I'll scan it in tomorrow and post it. (I am not at home now).
This is what we do folks.
In good times or bad, births and deaths, the SS family takes care of its own.
We have an occasional stinker pop up (and weeded out) but for the most part everybody on this site are good folks.
Our condolences go out to the family and friends of Fred.
I went through the drive in teller at my bank the other day.....yep.....you guessed it......braille keypad (this is on the DRIVERS side of the car).......how many blind people drivng cars go through there every day.:cookoo:
What Jim said......if that's your daily driver and you depend on it for your livelyhood I would keep it on the street.
One of the reasons my deuce seldom leaves the pavement is because my fixed income does not allow me much money to fix things.
Just my opinion....your milage will vary.
And then you will get together at mass meetings where you will sell and swap your green iron for more green iron.
You will hang out with the lunatic fringe and dance nekkid around a huge bonfire while telling tall tales of MV recoveries and the "ones that got away".
You will be debased and...
My M275 (non-turbo multi) did that the last time I started it.
I was told that usually means the IP is shot.
I have a new one on the shelf but lack the expertise to do the deed.
Welcome to the Green Iron Laughing Accademy.:cookoo:
You want some more green iron to go with that genny?
MUHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Hang in till the GA Rally next Oct.........the most MV fun you can have.
There is no intervention, interdiction or invention that can cure the OD fever.
12 step programs are for quitters.
Jump in, hang on and enjoy the ride.
I'm on a fixed income and I have to be careful with my pennies but I ponied up 15 bucks because I will be pimping myself out to do recoveries and maybe some hauling for folks.
I look at it as a business expense that will be recouped.
I spent over three bucks on a candy bar and bag of chips...
I concur with nonotagain.
The 818 will beat you to death with no weight on the 5th wheel and there is a lot more cab noise.
The 900 series trucks have a wider cab and more creature comforts.
If I were going to buy a 5 ton it would be a 900 series....especially now that the gooberment is...
Nice truck.....i was watching the ones with the hole for the gun ring. Since I have the M915 financed with VISA I had to pass.
If you want a ring mount to go with that send me a PM....I have some coming my way.
If you don't want a ring mount I would consider swapping my hardtop and some cash...
I helped another SS member stack one on top of the other (top one was flipped over)....we did it in a Wally-world parking lot without benefit of a wrecker or other lifting device.
That is the only way I would recommend pulling two at one time.
Contact SS member CSMDAVIS.....he is at Shelby and can help you out.
I agree about sharing a stepdeck.....there are stepdecks delivering stuff to Shelby all the time. Some of them are prob looking for backhauls.
Was this a sealed bid truck????
Inquiring minds want to know what they are...
Start getting ready for the 2012 GA Rally now and avoid the rush.
The most MV fun you can have legally.
You can use the search feature and find the 2011 GA Rally multimedia thread and see the insanity.:cookoo:
