Yes there is, but since they rebuilt the pump and installed the wrong shaft I wanted them to correct it. I could have drove the truck to the dealer but didn't want to leave it. All done now and runs great.
Update:Finally got around to taking pump back off truck and took to pump shop. They installed the correct tach drive and all is good. In case any one runs into this kinda thing the correct Cummins part number for the M813 PT pump is 3004979. Was $70 for the drive. They didn't charge to replace...
They rebuilt mine. That was the first thing I asked as I've had that before with other stuff [alt, starters etc]. They couldn't find any other tach drive for it except the standard one. So, I dug some and found in the TM section here someone posted a NHC 250 cummins parts manual. [The one with...
Good morning everyone.
I'm working on a 1979 M813 with a 250 Cummins. I had the PT pump rebuilt due to fuel contamination that made a mess of it. I got the rebuilt pump back from the injection shop, re-installed the pump and the truck runs great. However,The tach does not work. I found the...
I really like the Ford. Like Gimpy said its rare or never do we lift anything thats 20K lbs. But the reach is a big deal. Hey, paint the Ford OD green and and put military markings on it, no one will know the difference.
I agree with M543a2 if possible. I was going to put an A-frame on the rear of the M931 and make it so it would fold up over the cab and lay in a cradle or boom rest. I dont have a trailer for it anyway. Drew it all up, started collecting material. Found a 18,000 lb warn winch etc then bought a...
I am sure he is trying to be helpful but Nuclear welding and auto body welding are to very different specs. I seriously doubt he has very much rusty sheet metal to weld in the plant LOL. Great job on the project!!!
I'm not sure, but i think your talking about concrete and poor management. I thought he was talking about raising quality children, best he knows how. "assuming he is doing the right thing with them" thats all of us who have children and grand children. I am sure none of you assumed or hoped...
I was actually referring to my 1100x20's that i balanced but You may be right. But i don't know why not. We balance 315x22.5's [i know a little smaller] with hammer on weights just fine. It may be the folks you deal with don't have a tire balancer big enough to balance that size tire. Hence...
The hammer driven on [conventional weights] work just fine on the lock bead rim wheel. These tires had tubes.
We've tried several kinds of powder wights in our tubeless tires at work. Didn't have great success with them, we use the hammer on instead. Usually we only do the front tires. .Years...
Most truck tire shops can balance 1100x20's. I took my Goodyears off the M931 to work [Fleet shop] and balanced them. Found one that still had the flap rolled up in in. The way new tires come. Guess some one forgot that. ooooops
Old thread but i found interesting. Why couldn't you remove the steel 1/2" tubing from the factory pump like Doghead did, cut and flare both ends. Then use 1/2" inverted flare fitting - 3/8" male pipe adapter and that would screw directly into the ports on the pump. Specs for both pumps say 3/8"...
I was thinking you knew all that cause you played world of tanks !!!! :D. Didn't they move the museum there?? I've never got to see it. i agree with Swiss... please ramble on

To clarify.. I think with all agree with you about crap fuel both gas and diesel, so you dont need to keep saying "there I said it". Second I was referring to someone who had an issue with a new dura max destroying its injectors. I am positive it did just what he said, however..We used to have...
