You need to get under it and inspect the clutch linkage and while someone actuates the clutch pedal, watch for failure.
I'll bet you end up doing a clutch. Goes without saying you ought to do a rear main while you're in there.

Although it's difficult to diagnose, every deuce I've had that has had a noisy gearbox was the transmission.
If so, at a minimum it's a set of bearings (input/output).
Do a search here on SS for "VIN AND frame" and you should find some threads which show where the VIN is stamped on the frame and how to decode it.

clintogf had a truck that the lever kept coming off. I eventually had to remove it and using a cutoff wheel, I made the slot larger in the base of the lever so that when the bolt and nut were tightened, the lever was able to clamp onto the shift tower tighter.

MAKE ABSOLUTE SURE THE ENGINE STOP CABLE IS OUT and the transfercase is in neutral, BEFORE FOLLOWING THE FOLLOWING ADVICE!
Put tranny in gear, insert long prybar into jackshaft running from tranny to transfer, slowly turn over. Voila.
