I think there is one thing you need to keep in mind. There are split rims and split ring rims. Split rims is what most people think of when they hear about exploding tires and rims.
The military used split ring rims. Way different design and much, much safer. Spend $20 or whatever your...
RE: Re: RE: Mileage going up on towed deuces?
The odometer cable comes from the t-case not the transmission. Otherwise, your speed wold be off when in low range.
Here is what the 9-2320-209-10-1 says:
Step on clutch pedal (1) and press it all the way down.
2. Place TRANSFER CASE gear shift...
RE: Found this info
That is interesting because one of the reasons stated for the M715 was to replace the "more expensive" M37. I saw something somewhere showing the M715's ran the government around $7500 each back in 1967.
Umm, how are your torque rod ends? I thought of them and your wheel bearings being way out of adjustment when I read your post. The axle shouldn't shift on you. At least not side to side like you described.
I have 11.00-20 NDCC on the back of my M35 and they don't come close to the...
Kenny, your method of closing the side windows and opening the front made the trip home from the GA rally great. As long as we were moving, I was comfortable. This included the long run on I-10 with 100% humidity and about 80 degrees in the middle of night.
I am taking a break from sanding on the doors and windshield frame as I type this. So, I am not far enough along to know if I like the windshield frame sitting on the little raised rest already on the hood when it is down or would like something different. I do know my M715 has welting...
David,
Don't spend any time on the tiedowns. I have 3 grills. The one that came from the 1952 has the small holes not big enough for a 1/4" bolt to fit through. The other 2 have 1/4" holes in the grill. I cleaned up the 1952 grill and painted it months ago before I knew there was a...
I played around with my photo program and now know how to do the cirlces and arrows or whatever else I want to do to a picture. Thanks for pushing me on this guys.
The Gasser got to sit out in the sun some today while I pulled the hardtop off the M715 and basically made it more summer ready...
The dents didn 't look that bad until I put the second coat of paint on. I will get it out in the sun Saturday and get some pictures. A blaster would be a good idea, but not really affordable right now.
I showed Jennifer this thread and she got a good laugh about how the dents got there and...
Perfect explanation DDoyle. Thanks for the arrows too.
That would explain why the curve is on both sides of the hood at the same place.
Seems I will have to see if glazing puddy is "filler" and breaks my no filler rule or not so I can use my other replacement hood. That will have to be later...
Great, thanks!
Umm, that means it is a V8 diesel tach and probably not going to work on my I6 Gasser. I will look it up and see if I can even hook it up. If I can get a reading, then I will worry about accuracy.
Lets see, a V8 sends 4 pulses per crankshaft revolution while a 6 sends 3...
Surface rust on top and almost the entire front brace underneath rusted through made me think the other one would be better.
I am not going to put any numbers on the hood until I sand down the parts one and see how it comes out though.
How do I add arrows Joe?
I was sanding away on my replacement hood over the weekend and I realized something wasn't right. Besides the fact that what I thought was a straight hood had a lot of filler covering dents that is. I finally figured it out when I walked over to my parts Duece to collect my already painted...
This is a tach off of a MV. I don't know what kind though. I want to put it on my 6 cylinder 24V Gasser. Does anybody have any ideas of how to make it this work or what it is from?
Thanks.

I installed the drivers side this weekend. Bearings got new grease, brakes got cleaned up and everything inspected. The zipper style probably would have convinced me to use the short cut and get to the rest of the stuff "later." Glad I went through it all.
The boots came from OD Iron via the...
The Marines didn't mark vehicles by unit. All of them are marked the same way regardless of unit. PM Beast. He has the marking kits for USMC M35's. I will be buying mine from him in a few months. My M715 markings came from him too.
