Intending to add rear ramps to my recently acquired XM1061A1 but the two pairs of eyes on the rear are not on the same axis. I am thinking of raising the inboard pair to the same axis as the lifting eyes then using both pairs for the ramp pivot.
TM does not show the inboard rings (not sure...
Thanks for refreshing this thread - had forgot all about it. Just reread from the start. Damn I miss the banter with Ron, he was such a wealth of information and knowledge. Weldersam also has left the fold.
I made a QD hitch for a M923 - as it is a tractor, so very tight for bracing points. I used my M816 wrecker as a jig to fabricate it. Should fit a M936 the same. Nothing is cut or welded on the original vehicle - just the use of the tie down shackle points and removal of the washer under the...
Actually, since they are hexagonal in section, you put a spare pin through the eye or a crow bar etc., turn it around a couple of times and they should pull right out (they turn a bigger hole in the ground than the across flats dimension) - but yes, if you have to, lift them all straight up with...
Fresh in off the boat from Australia via CA. Cast ground anchors, pins and shackles. Need to locate 6 more shackles to complete these 5 sets, then get the remaining 3 sets that I have located in the UK shipped over.
Not exactly a "5 Ton Mod" as all RAEME M816's carried 8 sets of ground...
Are you trying to replace the bar grips with different - or to get new bar grips? New 900 16's are available - same size as Dodge command car, weapons carrier and 6x6.
Nice to see another 101 owner State Side!
FYI:
FFW is Fitted For Winch and can be either voltage.
FFR is Fitted For Radio and therefore has to be 24 V.
RAF - is the rear body a Marshalls remanufactured one or a Land Rover one? Lots of the later RAF ones were rebodied having been ambulances...
There was one that just landed in CA, had a few of my bits squeezed in but I will looking for another opportunity down the road, so keep us all posted. I'll check the other end for you too.
... AND for suspended towing (could be considered "transport" I guess) - that's why they are adjustable in height. They stop forced swing on corners and shock load on the boom cyls when recovery off road etc.
Testing procedure is :- allowable creep (ie., hyd fluid lost past cyl/valve seals)...
In the NE they are referred to as Jersey or Mafia blocks. These are often made by ready mixed concrete suppliers who have molds set ready for when mixer trucks go back to the plant with a little "left over" or surplus - contractors will often over measure since running short is a really bad...
More mods and fixes. Fender cracks, hitch spring washer, tethered reverse pin....
Had the fenders off so that I can space them away from the frame - needed an extra 1/8" to get the compressor base in between them.
Tad of an interference fit. Spacing the fenders out 1/8" will also save the...
Like the idea, looks very "bumpery", but prime for jeans taring ! Are you gonna "end cap" the I beam either side? (will need a drain hole in the web too! )
Cat walks were not a "factory" item - so not in any TM. May have been a base mod or civi addition? Do you have a history of it?
A few wrecker owners have fab'd them.
(I have never had an issue accessing a standard crane cupola - just be careful with greasy/muddy boots.)
CSMDavis may have a...

Thanks. Have written on there about a post that I may be able to assist with.
