    Scraped Gold

We ran B-20, Bio-diesel in some of our trucks and they all quit..LOL, had to clean out all the fuel tanks, lines etc, so like the guys above said, it can be cleaned out. A note on the B20, we did have to change [12] F550 fuel tanks as the bio ate the coating off the inside of the tank...

    Diesel

The charter boats I've been around used #2 fuel oil, red in color. We've used #2 fuel oil/HHO in diesel farm equipment, of course boats or tractors are not "on" road vehicles. Its that "red" color that will get you in trouble, and it only takes a small amount to turn the whole tank red. I would...

how to replace in tank fuel pump fuse

I've seen that before to, on some some diesels. In-tank fuel pump go bad [blow fuse in this case] and the Inj pump pulls enough to keep it running.

how to replace in tank fuel pump fuse

pretty cool pics, but wonder why the fuse blew just changing filters? Although sometimes fuse's, and breakers have a mind of their own.LOL

At the end of a long trip, the truck breaks down as I pull into the driveway.... Wow

for what its worth, Often on diesel engines, the transfer pump fails, the injector pump will pull enough fuel to keep it running , especially at higher rpms, but when you shut down or slow down its all over. Not sure if thats the case on the duece, but it is with other diesels, Glad it quit in...

    Diesel

Thanks for clearing that up. They have lots of different grades of diesel and I was getting confused. I used to run my trucks on HHO you could smell the difference. I'm glad to hear its better for our pumps though All the commerciasl boats here use #2 fuel oil, home heating oil, dyed red...

    Deuce Vs Russian Counterpart

Dont worry, If you can't read or write English, the MVA will give you a commercial test orally!! In the language you speak...!! I would think there is alot of room for interpretation in an oral exam. "oh yeah thats what I meant" kinda thing. And they want me finger printed and back ground...

Insurance and registration on a non "antique" MV? (VIRGINIA)

To be tagged as historic in Maryland it has to be 20 yrs or older, Sounds like Virginia might be the same. If thats true in Va, your truck would be an antique in 2013...

    Parts source recommendation

We inspect our drums, [commecial trucks] if scored bad, or wore out of specs, we replace now even though we have a lathe that can turn them. Seldom are they bad and usually will go through a couple sets of shoes. If urs just has oil on them brakleen does pretty good, But I would clean them off...

I may have one of those hoods extra, let me check. The truck I bought came with 3 engine side covers, I threw the one in the junk pile [bent up some] but I think it had that cover on it. I'll check tonight.

2 1/2 vs 5 Ton in the Sand??

Used to be allowed to, {assateague} but you know rules, rules, and more rules now. I really cant see how its going to cut the beach up much, especially with singles. Its soft sand, everything cuts it up.

2 1/2 vs 5 Ton in the Sand??

That looks like fun, camping with the MV, our beach wont allow anything with more than 2 axles on it. And if the Piping plovers are mating, won't let you on the beach at all!!

2 1/2 vs 5 Ton in the Sand??

Funny you say that, when i was a kid, noone had 4x4s, we would put sand on the tailgate of the 2 wheel drive pickups..worked good.
