I am bumping this thread up since I am going to Redstone next Tuesday (July 5th) to pick up a lot of stuff I won yesterday (scrap...no vehicles).
I will also be previewing some trucks that I may or may not bid on.
They are enforcing the rule that you can only preview active auction stuff so...
What are the costs (buying, maintaining, insuring) of the Tatra compared to the deuce.
I like to be able to get parts in a matter of hours verses days or weeks where an imported vehicle is concerned.
You can prob do a lot of improvements to a deuce for what you would spend aquiring a truck...
Yesterday Bob (twodogsafightin) and his family stopped by the LZ to pick up the Pioneer trailer he won a couple of weeks ago.
I recovered the trailer from Redstone and had it secured here at the compound until he could pick it up.
He called later and said they made it back to Kaintuck...
The ideal situation is to find a trucker with a 53 foot stepdeck trailer (with ramps) that is looking for a backhaul from Mississippi.
There are a lot of trucks shipped into Camp Shelby on stepdecks.....you might get lucky and find one headed up your way.

If I were to take on another project I would be an M715 (or some version there of).
I saw one at Haspin that someone had installed an small 4 cylinder multi-fuel in.....he siad it was just a regular multi that had had two cyliners chopped off. I think he also reworked the axles too.
The vehicle has the aerodynamics of a concrete block......if you are running it wide open it will suck fuel.....mine did well when I kept it around 2300 RPM but sucked the bottom out of the tank if I ran it up against the governor.
Putting 1100x20 tires will help somewhat but you still have to...
