    hmmwv tachometer installation

I shoulda took a picture of the bracket itself before I mounted it, but you get the general idea. I saw something similar to this on the ultra-webs. Way easier to run the wires, and you can actually see the gauge. Thanks again for the tach, it works great.

    4 speed trans conversion

I had extra tan... racingjoe66, Jon0249, Augi, (and pretty much everyone else) helped me with my recent conversion, and I'd be more than happy to pay it forward. I just got mine finished 4 days ago, and all my injuries are still fresh... Did 75mph for the first time, felt like I was trying...

    24v relay question

Sounds like I shuda used 30v relays instead of 24v. Do you think since HMMWV's are actually around 27v or 28v that my "CHYNA!" (my Trump impression...) made relay couldn't handle it? Jon in TX has the same setup as me and recommended using a DC/DC Converter ($19 on scam-a-zon). Says he's never...

    24v relay question

Got my 4L80e swap done! Drove the truck yesterday, ran great. Today I went to drive it and the TCM (Quick 4 aftermarket) wouldn't turn on. Turns out my 24v 30amp relay isn't working. My only guess is that 30amps must not have been enough? Does anyone know what amperage is correct for the relay...

Power to windshield sprayer but wiper motor not working. Which pins do i check?

The ground wire comes off the wiper motor housing and attaches with a ring terminal to your window frame. I can't remember if my sprayer worked or not at the time. Not sure if my solution will solve your problem, but you could always give it a try...

Power to windshield sprayer but wiper motor not working. Which pins do i check?

I had the same problem last year when I got my M998. Pull the pins on your windshield hinges, fold down your windshield, and clean the the three button contact points. As my photo shows, mine were packed full of dirt. Cleaned it up and the motor worked like new. Also, put some electrical grease...

    HMMWV Grounding Kit Install

    hmmwv tachometer installation

TNriverjet, Got it. Thanks for the clarification. FYI guys, TNriverjet has been awesome to deal with. He shipped the tach out to me ASAP, had great install instructions in the box, and the tach is in perfect condition. If you're doing the 4L80e swap, it just makes good sense to have one of these...

    hmmwv tachometer installation

Which is better, pulling the signal from the tach drive or pulling signal from the alternator? Also, in hmmwv1's first pic, it looks like there are two red wires. I see where the first one goes but where does the second red wire go?

200 AMP Dual Voltage Alternator Help

Spoke to Niehoff tech today, not much help. I have a 6.5 with the Niehoff 200 amp dual 14/28 v alternator on my M998. I've decided to do the 4L80e upgrade and want to use the 14v side of my alt to charge my rear battery so I don't over draw from it. Problem: I followed Augi's write up on how...

M998 Fan cycling on/ off before reaching temp

My fan sometimes randomly cycles on and off before the engine reaches full temp (mine is 220 deg dead nuts). It has done this it at 120 deg, 160 deg, etc... It always works like it should when it hits 220 deg. Runs until it cools down, then shuts off. I've ordered a new temp sensor that goes...

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

    1. Installed a cargo canvas, had to fab up the frame but I think it turned out ok. 1" EMT Conduit worked well. 2. Cleaned my turn signal contact points (left turns were intermittent) 3. Got a little carried away with the tire dressing...Haha.

    M998 Front Winch Bumper Options...

Just to clarify, I have a dual 24v/ 12v 200 amp alt. My basic understanding is if I choose to get an off the shelf 12v winch, I'd need to install a separate 12v battery in my truck somewhere (hopefully in the engine bay. Any recommendations on a good spot?) Figure out where to pull the 12v power...

    M998 Front Winch Bumper Options...

WARHOSS: Great idea, could you please post or PM some picks of those HMMWV's with that setup. Actually just need to see how the front hitch was installed... thanks

    M998 Front Winch Bumper Options...

86humv: Would the frame extension brackets work with both bumpers? i.e.. 6k winch plate and the mile marker Also, the mile marker winch bumper looks like it could handle a higher rated winch load because the bottom of it bolts onto each of the lower control arms? If I go with a 12,000 lbs...
