Replaced hub output seal.
Adjusted hub bearings to spec with new washer and loctite.
Checked drive gear end play, in spec.
Completed re-booting 7.5k shaft.
Test drive to grub hut for a burger. [emoji106]

Used “pipe trick” method to separate hub side CV joint. Used (2) 1x4 pieces of lumber under the CV from either side and some gravity assisted hits. It only took 3 hits.
Now re-greasing and booting the shaft.

Stilltring to figure out 7k disassembly if the rotor side ring is a destructive removal. Thinking I’ll go to 12k shafts next time

Looks like the rotor side CV is specified for disassembly in the TM. Suggestions how to get the retaining ring off in one piece or replacement part #?

Getting stuck on how to disassemble the shaft joints for inspection and boot repair. I would prefer to disassemble from the hub side as the rotor side outer snap ring looks like a destructive process (its not moving)

Looks like sheet metal thread pitch. I have not made it to the hardware store yet to attempt to match.

My hmmwv is a 4 man hardtop conversion. Its missing the top tunnel insulation pads and the rear side tunnel pads. All other interior insulation appears to be complete.
What part numbers do I need?
Ordered 12340870 for the top front 1/2 cover.

Interesting read, I'm also thinking about picking up a sandblaster attachment for my pressure washer use on heavy parts. For thin parts I understand these units can feed other abrasives and soda if needed.
