When I was in Germany in 75-76 we went to a German kaserne for some training.
There was armor units there and they had a range where they would put snorkels on the tanks and drive them completely under water......always looked spookey to me even though the tanks were in a concrete pond that...
Last year I had a "Spring Fling" mini-rally at my place and had a pretty decent turn out.
There are 6-7 folks within 25 miles or so of me and many more outside that range.
We may do it again this year.
You just have to threaten the right person with the right consequences.
If you can get past the human firewalls and actually talk to someone that can make a command decsion you can usually reach a medium.
You almost always get less fuel milage with an automatic transmission.
I drove an A3 from SC back to AL. I liked the creature comforts (still had to wear hearing protectors) but the top speed was disapointing.
I have no idea how it would pull loaded but I don't think it would be much of an...
We did that at the 2009 GA Rally and I can tell you that it sucks. You cannot fill the pot up past 3/4 or it will slop when you put it in or take it out of the oven.
It is also dicey carrying the hot water down the stairs to where the washing is being done.
At the 2010 rally Mike had the...
Brannan,
Is that your next duty station as a Coastie?
Are you going to live on the boat?
I did a Google and this one popped up first.:
Harbor Lights Marina

Mike and I have agreed that the Chili-mac is a menu keeper for one night (prob Friday).
We even had folks eating it lukewarm the next day.
You can't argue with success.
I think Kenny should have to do a before and after weigh in to see how much he is consuming.
Last years rally was the best ever......this year is going to eclipse that for sure.
This event is the highlight of my MV year.
We are going to try to have something special this year from the kitchen.
I have been breeding a bigger and more meaty possum.
Having been the receipient of Mike's hospitality I can attest to the size and scope of his ecclectic collection.......I just thought I was a pack rat.....I bow to the master.
Just about any gas engine can be run on CNG.....but speaking as a person who has to use it for heating and cooking it is getting expensive too. If you get caught running untaxed propane you get the same fine as offroad diesel fuel.
When you add fuel tax to the cost of buying propane you will...
Welcome to the Green Iron Laughing Accademy. :cookoo:
You are headed down the slippery slope of MV addiction with a bunch of guys that will grease the skids as you go by.
Lots of prior service and retired guys on here.....you'll never meet a better bunch of misfits in one place.
I retired...
If I remember correctly (again) there were quick disconnect air and hydrolic lines on the trailer.
It would not be hard to cobble together some air lines to connect with the 800 series brakes.
You would also need tow lights.
I hope he was meaning an 800 series 5 ton......if he is talking...
If I remember right there is a pintle hitch adaptor that can be attached to the trailer and pulled with something other than the prime mover.
I think a SS member out west has one or built one.
