    No Juice

The regulator is the smaller box. It's not typically the problem, unless it is actually broken. The DUVAC is the problem (large blue box on driver's fender). It's not really a "converter" box. Each alternator is 28V, but one is regulated down to 14V to charge the 12V side of the system as...

    Experimental Deuce?

Now Joe, you should know perfectly well from the threads on this site that everyone already knows about every truck that is for sale on these public auction sites . After all, they are PUBLIC sites, right? How could anyone not know? You were only kidding yourself to think you might get...

    M1008 stalling after 2 or 3 seconds

Take the fuel cap off, then remove the return line from the top of the IP. Blow into the line with a few pounds of compressed air ( 5 or 6 psi should be plenty ) and have a friend listen at the fuel filler for air blowing into the tank. Or, if no friend is available, just remove the air source...

    Experimental Deuce?

Re: RE: Re: Experimental Deuce? Huh?? C'mon, who is fooling you here??? Are you also paying them for this privilege? I'll tell you what, send me $50 and I'll tell you right now exactly when you can place your bid... :cookoo: Bidding first means nothing. We all know this. Bidding opens...

New Air Force 5 ton or whatever...

But that's not to say we should stop trying. I'm not sure the Navistar plant location ever was (or needs to be) a secret, but it's good to be reminded once in a while that we have enemies... Enemies that can conceivably browse this site and read posts just to see if they find anything about a...

    M116a2 trailer part?

Toledo Actuators use a replacement shock with the same number as the TM (1844-2), so I always assumed it was the right part, although I never bought one. Google "surge brake shock 1844-2" http://www.qtrailer.com/catalog/brk_cont.pdf - See page 6...

    10 Ton M125 Repaint

Man, talk about motivation!!! You sure didn't waste any time. Can't wait to see the after pics!

Looking for a clean M1028 bed in MD/PA area

Thanks, I'll check it out. I have a really clean civilian bed, but I have to paint the entire thing and I still need the shelter tie-dows, so finding a complete M1028 take-off bed would be nice.

    M880 MERDC pattern teaser

Well, I guess I was mistaken. I know I've seen the pattern somewhere. Now if I can only figure out where....

Looking for a clean M1028 bed in MD/PA area

Anybody have a clean M1028 bed with tie-downs for sale in the MD/PA area? Did anyone win any M1028s at Meade that they will be making a flat bed out of?

    Diesel/Burnt Oil Smell from Exhaust

It's like a PCV valve on a gasser. It creates and regulates the vacuum in the crankcase.

    M880 MERDC pattern teaser

I'm pretty sure my print copy of the MERDC pattern has an M880 in it. I'll check it out this evening and see. I might be able to scan it, if you want it for comparison. Those patterns look good! I actually did the same thing for the CUCV pattern when I got my first truck. Not sure what I ever...

    dump truck

Well, you see the guys at Oshkosh *advertising* them for $20K. I'm not sure how fast they move those high priced trucks or if they get their price. They certainly don't from most guys in the hobby. Their customers are probably commercial. At $20K, they can probably make over $10K on that truck...

    M1010 parts

The alternators are significantly different in their dimensions. That won't end up just being a bolt-on mod... You might be able to run the M1010 alternators in "low", but I cannot remember the output of them on that setting, but I think it is around 14.4V. I'm not so sure it's recommended, but...

    dump truck

Nice looking multi... I'm not sure a winch is worth an extra $7500! , but it is certainly worth more than without.

    Camo paint options

What brand? Aervoe used to have some problems with fading and turning pinkish  , but I have heard it is better now. Gillespie is the best color match I have seen, aside from real CARC.

    dump truck

Depends how bad you want it, how nice it is, how far it is, how many miles, which model, etc... That is a pretty vague question, but I would say bid what you are comfortable paying for it. You can never go wrong with that method. If you're comfortable paying more than the next guy, you might...

    M1010 parts

I would not say that is the easiest way to go about it. Those alternators are 24V and are totally different from the regular stuff. You would essentially need to swap wiring harnesses to have the proper circuitry. They are harder to find (more expensive, generally) than the standard CUCV...

    How hot is to hot?

Agreed. Considering the original t-stat is 195 degree, 220 is not a problem. These engines were designed to run hotter than 180. I wouldn't want to run it at 220 all day, but it didn't hurt anything. What kind of gauge are you using? I had a factory gauge in my civvy truk that read 20 degrees...

    No more Chambersburg trucks

Interesting... They've actually refunded me all of my illegally collected vehicle tax money, but there's still plenty that has been paid twice by many of us. They did get themselves a bonafide Florida Dealer License and have used that for all of my recent transactions, so they might have that...
