One thing blows my mind about Fla deuces.....I have never seen one that came out of FL that didn't have a heater....but I have bought a bunch out of Ohio and other parts north and they didn't have a heater...go figure.:cookoo:
As a field expedient we used to put a small block of wood at the...
I have bought kits from Westfolk too......I'm very satisfied with the primary fuel filter and the oil filter replacements.
I haven't put the secondaries on yet but the kit looks very well designed.
You could try to cobble a system together but I can't see where the advantage would be.
Ditto what Ferro said about use.....the NA engine will run the little tractor just fine bobtailing (mine shows 60mph on level ground).
Pulling a load is another kettle of fish....dragging one of my van trailers around it will not pull the hat off your head.
My plan is to try to find a...
Years ago my unit at Fort Benning went to Fort Chaffe Arkansas to support the Rangers.
I drove one of our M916's pulling a lowbay with D8 Dozer on the back.
The night before we left we packed everything up in a pouring rain and slept in our trucks.
Sleeping over the steering wheel in that...
My first 915 had that issue...maybe AMGENERAL can chime in and tell them how he resolved the issue after he bought it.
I got stuck at 0430 on my way to Fort Campbell to pick up a trailer.
Lights were working fine and then all of a sudden I was in the dark.
There may be some way to run a...
Are you missing the mudflaps or the hangers and the mudflaps?
I think NAPA has the whole shebang...the 915 mudflaps are removeable and fit into holes on the back of the frame.
I don't have pics but maybe some of the other 915 owners can post some.
You will have to get the bezel from...
Yep....that was taken at this years GA MVPA meeting a while back.
Not sure yet if I am going to put money into fixing the Non-turbo engine or replace it with a turbo engine.
I can give you a yardstick.
There was a guy near me that sold one one ebay a few years ago...very good restoration, new soft top, new three color camo paint. Looked and ran like new.
It sold for a hair over 8 grand.
I'll take a little less than half that for mine.
I have one that I am considering selling......it needs a head gasket but runs...no coolant in oil.
I love it to death but I am thinning the herd and would like to see it go to someone that would restore it and give it the love it deserves.
There are a couple of reasons a military vehicle has low miles on it.
One is that most vehicles spent the better part of their lives in the Motor Pool waiting to go "out in the field". They were not daily drivers and were only cranked for "motor maintainence" once a week.
The other is that...
Do you mean Ma Deuce as in a .50 cal or a deuce and a half?
You can never have too many heavy machineguns....and the Ma Deuce took first place at the Machine Gun Nationals.
If I had a choice (and the money) I would be on the Ma Deuce like a hobo on a ham sandwich.
.50 cals are the weapon...
It could be the receptecle....we went through two IV cables with WoodyWoods M818 and my van trailer before we found one that would work without smoking one or two of the pins when we plugged it in.
