Welcome to the Green Iron Laughing Accademy.:cookoo:
You can run a mixture of various flammable liquids......to include gasoline, waste motor oil, waste vegetable oil, hydrolic, transmission fluid, etc.
I try to run 30% diesel fuel, 30% waste motor oil, 30% waste veggie oil and 10%...
What he said.
It takes a lot of power (from an already underpowered truck) to get those big wheels moving.
Just because you can do something doesn't mean you should.
I suspect that due to the lack of water proofing that they get a lot of water in them.
I have parted out several deuces with heaters and it was always hit or miss if the blower would work.
Just my thoughts.
MWO= Modification Work Order.....whenever a small modification is applied (such as the addition of seat belts or adding a heater) they usually attach a tag like that.
If you don't find anything closer to you check these guys out.
I have spoken to them but never bought anything.
They have contracts to haul tires off military bases so they may have some good buys.
Recovered Materials Inc: Home
Years ago at Fort Benning GA I met a guy that had bought a big lot of them from DRMO (this was before Gooberment larcenation took over).
He was required to strip them and demill them on the yard.....he could keep all the parts but the cabs and bodies had to be mutilated (while DRMO watched)...
I have a friend that just bought two of the correct era stretchers....he has no use for them...just got a good deal and they were OD green.
Don't know how you would get them from AL to your place. PM for details.
Not to be a smart azz but......just because you can do something doesn't mean you should.
One question you need to ask is will your insurance cover you towing something like this.
Also what will the local DOT think......they can give you a ticket for an "unsafe load" if they don't like what...
I agree with Recovery 4X4 (Kenny)....every time I get the 5 ton urge again (I had a M816 wrecker) I go out in the back yard and pick up that 5 ton brake drum I keep back there....by the time I get it moved to the other side of the yard the urge has worn off.rofl
