I question whether the rear leg actually came on all M105's, because I have seen a bunch that HAD to be wearing their original paint and there were no obvious marks inside or out on the rear panel to indicate that there were ever bolts in there. Maybe they were shipped loose and many units just...
I took it to mean he didn't want it pushing him around too much on the trip. Braking would not "improve", but traction should, which would eliminate possible wheel lock-up, thus "improving" braking. Whether traction is really an issue when flat towing a deuce with another, I've never seen nor...
I understand the "details" are not necessarily related to his problem, but leaving out the details is not the same as providing the wrong information. My point is that people could be reading the thread who might have a charging system problem now or at some point in the future and they will be...
The problem with the TC is that any junk from the tranny gets trapped in it and will contaminate the fluid in your rebuild and most probably shorten it's life. For this reason, most tranny shops will only warranty their work if they flush the converter or you buy a new.
Never rebuilt one, but the R&R is not difficult, as you guessed. It's much nicer if you have a lift :)
The -34 manual pretty much covers most of the internals. I'm not sure if there is a specific manual the Army uses on rebuilding the TH400 (there is a manual on the 6.2)?
Just a point of clarification that ida34 helped set me straight on: The alternators are not really run "in series". The charging system is 2 separate charging systems, each charging 14V (hence the ground isolation of the alternators) to their respective battery.
There are several options for...

First off, I was/am perfectly calm. Second, don't let my post discourage you. This a forum for MV enthusiasts, which includes dealers. There are other dealers on this forum. I have nothing against dealers. As I said, I totally understand the position, especially now that GL is the...
No offense here, but I don't understand...
If there's no market for the parts, then how do you stay in business as a wholesaler? To whom do you wholesale? And why do you have high retail (not wholesale) pricing on your trucks?
Are Staffsargent's prices so high that you would only pay 1/10th of...
Get a wiring harness cable from a residue military trailer (or one that someone is going to put a civilian connector on) and cut off the connector. Wire it up to a civilian 7-pin socket and you're all set. I did the opposite so I can haul my military trailer with a non-military truck.
The frame is the same and will accept a regular bed. You will need to cut/remove and block off the fuel lines that went to the rear heater. You will also need to seal up the hole in the back of the cab, and you'll probably want to add a window while you're at it. I'd probably see if I could find...
From an eBay auction of a newer manufacture harness (1993?), so it may not be exactly the same as the original (I didn't check). But it's probably close.
