Update: I am now 66 years and 8 months.
So as already mentioned earlier, I am no longer in the youngster group of 51-60, but in the 60 and over bin.
Turns out that since getting 65, I qualified for Czech state pension, which once I get it is nice for one extra beer per month. Since July 6...
I keep looking, but a 813 double cabin is simple not on the market in this part of Europe anymore. Some 815 single and double cabins, but not 813.
A completely rusty rotten T813 kolos would now set you back here anything between 8 000 EUR and 15 000 EUR, anything half decent will go for well...
On the road in the Netherlands with no time and little good internet access. Normally I would search the forum and the TMs, but like said, no time now and lousy internet, and once I am back home, that supplier is 700 miles away and does not deliver abroad (legal restrictions).
Once home in...
The first registration of this truck was from 2010, but they were built since 2004. Not sure if "first registration" really means year of manufacturing, sometimes these trucks were driving around or stored in depots without number plates or official first registration.
This MAN military truck was just sold on an auction in Germany for 21 500 EUR (I think). Its a nice example of such a newer truck.
Some more info on this truck at this website
I included these pictures to make sure that if the auction site closes that thread, (with 27 pics) there still are...
Great job. You're doing in a few weeks what took me 1 years (and still not ready).
Where in France more or less are you?
I was going to recommend REOMIE for parts, but they finally closed shop in December 2021 auaauaauaauaauaauaauaaua
I was planning a trip there to snap up some parts I...
Jeff, I should have known in 2014 you were there in Florida. After the GA rally, I hitched a ride with Kenny down to Florida, and visited my nephews, one of them living in Daytona Beach and the other one in New Smyrna Beach. I could have helped with the wreckers, or at least look them over...
A bit more complicated, and not sure it would work that easy for a LMVT
My M51 dumpt truck can be converted into a tractor in about 30 minutes, and back to dump in about 40 minutes.
Pictures are on our website. Under those pictures is a link to a description on how to make the conversion (no...
Respect.
The generator is a good idea with expected outages, but starting the truck maintenance with two major storms coming your way, in retrospect maybe not so. Been there, done that, things never work when in stress or under time pressure.
Would have been better to ride it out and then...
That definitely is a brilliant starting point. If it is mechanically ok, there is not much wrong with that beast (apart from the fuel consumption).
Front door would set you back about 350 €. Shipping an entire cabin over there would cost you a fortune, but I can ask if you want.
That rotted...
Probably several people who could help with cabin parts, certainly from the Czech Republic, but getting it shipped to down under is either very expensive and quick or just expensive and slow. Showing some pics of your truck and the problem parts always helps.

I am not that into sports cars, always liked more rugged things better, like the Toyota BJ40s The two exceptions are the Mustang and the Jag XK120. Recently saw some modern Mustangs, and I have to say they still appeal to me.
As to the auctions, I think too many "ordinary" people already know...
