I was out splitting some wood as therapy and a good cardio workout. It began to rain. I don’t need wet therapy so I decided to pull the drain plug out and get that looked at. Nice little pile I split everything that was cut to length. I reached up onto the rusty hole of the block and clamp d...
Yea I don’t know what was added and what taken away. They traded the big rims and tires for a stock set but now they want the lift off. I just need to figure out what that entails. I will continue to do my research. I still don t have to like it. But I will get by with a little help from my...
I have a 2013 Ram 2500HD crew cab diesel 6 speed manual truck that was sent to me to have the lift kit removed from it. I don't even know where to start. My Son was supposed to do the work. I look at it and wonder if anyone on this sight has a similar truck that they could exchange pictures with...
Is it possible you have the transmission cross member on backwards. They have an area that is rounded out just for the driveshaft flange. That is only on one side of the cross member, and I suspect that is what you done. Check it out and report back. It happens.
When I have the engine out I will install a block heater and replace all the freeze pugs with brass plugs. Any feedback on that plan? I could BrassO them. Ha ha.
I wanted to do something to move in the right direction so after work I went in the barn grabbed my long punch and punched out a freeze plug in the block. Nice shower of crusty coolant. So I am not even feeling bad about pulling the engine. It will be the opportunity to detail everything under...
I always place a flat washer on the water pump stud, so the flange nut gets an even surface to tighten on. Otherwise, you tighten the outer nut against the bracket, and it wears into the hex of the water pump stud and makes a gouge in the slide area and makes adjustment harder. I hope I relayed...
The new driveshaft has arrived and fits perfect.
Side by side comparison.
Fits and has the same slip measurement on the yoke as the stock set up.
I fought my BPPV to get this on but all in all I really liked the way it fit. Now I must get the fluids back in the truck and put the big...
Another minor set back I have health issues yet or again. Nothing major I hope. But I have BPPV right now and that is really messing me up. Google BPPV and you will see what it is. I will get past this and another heart procedure. Everything is coming at once. Take Care.
The freshly rebuilt injection pump on "decade after being wrecked" died six months ago. Major issue. We needed a replacement. So maybe give it to another shop this time.
Mechanical things fail. Period. And a rotary injection pump is not a major issue. Rotary injection pumps failed on CUCV's...
I used acidic test strips on the antifreeze a few years back and everything was good. I didn't expect Dex Cool to do any damage. I think it is just the head gaskets, and I know they are bad on many engines that are out running. I had perfect running CUCV's that I rebuilt and pulled the heads and...
