I don't have a wiring diagram, and no relay was used, all the power to the lights flows directly through the switch (my reverse lights are just M35A3 reverse lights, so no more than 1 amp each, 2 amps total). Let me describe my wiring for the manual switch:
I have a constant power line from my...
On June 10th, 2017, with much help from one of my brothers, I replaced my Dynomax muffler with an Aero Turbine 3535XL muffler.
Stainless steel
3.5" ID Inlet
3.5" ID Outlet
6" Body Diameter
26" Overall Length
In 2012 I paid a place to install the Dynomax muffler for me, unfortunately since...
In February 2017 I started what turned out to be a rather unpopular mod, adding a pair of Extreme Outback 24 V supplemental electrical air compressors to my truck:
https://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?164188-Supplemental-Electric-Air-Compressor
It wasn't all that complicated or...
Only slightly out of order, as of June 17th, 2017, I finished installing Peashooter's transmission mounted Reverse Light Switch, and I copied Clinto's wiring:

I took...
June 10th, 2017,
Oil change @2760.0 miles, 338.5 hours, Mobil Delvac 15W40 conventional oil
I also installed Fumoto T-208 (7/8"-18 UNF) oil pan drain valves (quantity 2):

A well placed zip-tie in the lever slot will prevent the valve from...
I just finished my reverse light switch too. I also copied clinto's wiring to the positive side of the air brake light switch, with an in-line fuse. The biggest pain was feeding the wires out that frame crossmember followed closely by removing/installing the transmission tunnel cover with all my...
In 2015 I started considering tinting my side (door) windows:
https://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?139504-Tinting-side-windows-did-you-fully-remove-the-window
Removing the windows was much easier than I expected, and I replaced the window channels and door weather seals while in there...
After two years of deliberating and mostly not-doing, I finally pulled the side windows out for tint. It was incredibly easy. I mean, no question pull the windows out to tint them. I was mostly trying to decide if I was going to replace the windows, since when the military prepared my truck for...
I finished my DC sub-panel that was spawned by the addition of supplemental electrical air compressors, so I could finally put the batteries back in. A 3/8" piece of rubber filled the gap very nicely on the shorter battery. I added some fender washers to the outside of the battery box and four...
I have test run the air compressors and relay power and they seem to work beautifully!

However, as seen in the video, I've had some trouble with the little Pololu board listed earlier performing as I had hoped. On the product website there was a note about product...
A couple weeks ago when I was installing the filter on the second air compressor, I noticed what looked much like numerous internal cracks:
So I sent an email to Extreme Outback Products with the above pictures, expressing my concerns:"...inside the air compressors it appears that the...
eBay or you'll have to make your own. I purchased an NOS front leg jack for an A2 model from a member here (CUCVFAN), and he had paid someone to make a crank handle for it (that was like the original)
Please post this in the Classifieds.
I ran the truck with the 1/4" nylon control line from the governor disconnected at the air dryer as pictured above. When the shut-off pressure was reached, a strong blast of air came from the governor not the AD-9. Nothing came from the AD-9 control port.
When the nylon line started to vent, I...
The #3 connection (1/4" black poly line), I have added, and it only goes directly to the Control port on the AD9. Yes, the AD9 could have a problem - always a possibility, but it was brand new when I bought it last year.
I shall try this. Thank you.
I know exactly where 3 and 4 go. But I'll go look for #1 & 2 - but one can realize that it won't affect #1 and 2 if you bypass the governor. They'd still be connected to each other, which wouldn't affect wherever the lines come from and wherever they go.
Also, I still don't understand why the...
Thank you guys for your help and input here.
So Mr. Rusty, here's a picture of my governor again, where I've labeled the connections connections 1-4:
#1 & 2 are Tee'd together, I haven't followed where this line goes, but I'm pretty sure it comes directly from the second air tank.
#3 Goes to...
Rusty, I'm sorry I don't follow all of your connection description. I have plumbed the air dryer according to the instructions, as posted in Post #88, which definitely shows the dryer being placed before the air tanks and the only portion of the AD-9 connected to the governor is the "Control"...
So I thought this time the air dryer would behave differently, but it doesn't appear so.
1. It doesn't sound like the engine mounted air compressor ever turns off, even though system pressure is just above 120 PSI. Like adding the control line from the air governor to the air dryer interferes...
That's really helpful information there Barrman, I appreciate it!
I like the idea of using the civilian vehicle as a sort of "set the pace" vehicle, but I think I like the idea even better of the flashing head lights as the "all clear" signal when changing lanes.
I'm planning ~700 mile round trip from northern Utah to western Idaho in my 1972 M35A2. I have a family member following me in my Dodge Dakota pickup.
I've done short, 2-vehicle "convoys" stints before getting firewood with my brother. He tried leading with his civilian pickup truck at first...
