    Axle vent/pressure release valve

I couldn't find the original thread that these pictures were in. I did mine just like Peashooter: http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?108671-PEASHOOTER-s-M109A3-CAMPER-Build-Thread&p=1546640&viewfull=1#post1546640 I used 1/4" air brake line to vent all 3 axles, transfer case and...

M35A2 - FLIPPING REAR HUBS TO SINGLE OUT A DEUCE.

You'll want to post that question in the Parts Wanted forum (which is found under the "Classifieds" - see the link at the top center of every page): http://www.steelsoldiers.com/forumdisplay.php?130-Parts-wanted

What did you do to your deuce this week?

To allow the cable to be more flexible. If you put a steel core wire rope on the deuce winch drum, you would exceed the minimum bend radius and damage the cable.

Moderators~ Time for a Generator only forum!?

Have you decided to be just one Generators forum or do you want to separate the Generators by class (3KW, 5KW, 10KW, 30KW, 60KW+ etc), or by type (Gas / Diesel, or MEP-002/003, MEP-016B/701A... I'm not sure of all the differences, I only have a MEP-016B/701A)? I would volunteer to help once it...

    One piece cargo cover install

Now that you have front vs rear figured out (the end curtain with the triangle shaped tabs on the end = front). Make sure you layer the flaps correctly. Think about the wind flowing down the truck while it travels down the road. If done improperly, the air will catch the cargo cover and rip it...

    M934A2 Expandable Off-Road capabilities

As long as the cargo cover is lashed down tightly, and not put on backwards, IMO, it will survive 60-80 MPH winds just fine. My currently equipped cargo cover is not new and it has had some professional sewing to fix it (re-stitch windows and other repairs from damage by previous owner). I...

Answer to the age old question-m35a2

Oops, nvm. Had to clear my post, I was going to recommend a fellow who had an NOS heater kit for sale but it's long sold.

    Eventful 5 Ton Recovery

It is good to hear you were unhurt and could drive home, but I wouldn't be surprised if you found broken torque rods or damaged ends. It seems when cars hit these larger trucks it's actually the suspension and axles that takes the brunt of the impact, which they're not happy about doing.

Ibis tek light bar vs led light bar.

Unfortunately, I have only seen the brackets (curved, straight, or otherwise) for sale with the light bar. You can try placing want ads or continually searching eBay (via saved searches), but I do not know of any other source that sells individual components. I suspect contacting Ibis Tek...

M105A2 trailer, securing racks in side storage pockets while in transit

I thought I posted about this before, but all my searching has been unsuccessful. (Note, this event happened in 2014) My M105A2 trailer came with a spare front/rear rack. I thought the external side storage pockets were nifty. The rack is seen here, hours before, stored on the driver's side...

    Valence's 1960 Pioneer Tool Trailer

I hauled the body and frame to Clearfield Recycling yesterday, which is ironic considering the title of this thread. Behold the final moments of the donor trailer. Fortunately, its parts will live on in my trailer (which project I will resume next spring). :usafss: Frame, leaf springs, cargo...

    What makes a VIC-1

Welcome to the forum! Maybe you could post a picture of your helmet and connector, maybe even the pin-out from Bose, and someone here familiar with all that stuff might know what it is?

    Valence's M66 Gun Ring

Yes, you most certainly can still access the rear leg u-bolts after the plate is in, as seen in Post #107. There was no other interference with the seat, other than the seat belt rubbing rather hard on the plate. You can still access the seat belt mounts on the back of the cab too, it's only a...

    Valence's M66 Gun Ring

http://www.stanleyengineeredfastening.com/brands/pop/rivets/types I did a bit of digging, and according to this website, I would think these pop rivets, specifically, appear to have the following characteristics: Blind Domed head Interlock or Structural (previously called Ultra-Grip) (The...

    Valence's M66 Gun Ring

It might be pertinent to this thread if folks want to see a bunch of pictures of my truck off-roading with this gun ring set up. It was dry, hard ground with some surface sand and many loose rocks. It was just about perfect, except that some of the trails were a little narrow for 6x6's. I...

    Valence's M66 Gun Ring

Why thank you Mr. clinto! That is high praise indeed and I am quite humbled for you to say so. It was quite the adventure for sure, that I was just learning my way through. I don't regret it, but I'm a little burned out on projects ;) In this kit they are P/N 12315644-2 (SSPV) The rivets are...

New member and owner of M35A2

I would venture the truck likely wasn't left sitting with the Fuel Shut off lever in the OUT (engaged = no fuel) position. Therefore, it may be possible that the fuel plunger will be stuck in the wide open position. Not a rare occurrence to be sure. What this means to you is when you go to try...

    Valence's 1960 Pioneer Tool Trailer

I apologize, I keep forgetting to take a picture in the evenings, but I have a friend who has is able to get used conveyor belts. It's a little thicker (about 3/8" vs 1/4") but appears to be made of the same material: the rubber with internal woven cloth for strength/durability. I have yet to...
