    War Wagon

Nice build and tribute!. I live just south of Laramie Wyoming by about 20 miles. Not sure where in Laramie County you live but would like to see your truck when your done. Maybe next parade or event you go to.

    Support leg lubrication question

Good thing you were as thorough as you were. Whats next on your list? Or is that a separate thread you started?

    Support leg lubrication question

By the way, in my experience it is rare that a grease zirk gets rusty. it is more common that it gets smashed and does not work anymore. Have you tried just squirting grease in it before you go to all the trouble of replacing it?

    Support leg lubrication question

I would imagine you could buy just one from an auto parts store or maybe a blister pack with a couple in it. Why not give NAPA or your favorite auto part supplier a call and ask a few questions.

Anyone interested in heavier duty hydraulic head button retaining clips?

If your considering a quantity production, I would be down for 2 to 3 sets. I appreciate your doing all this leg work!

    Support leg lubrication question

I have an M105a2 and saw the difference in the two support legs on that popular auction site. At first I thought it must use the same support leg. After reading some manuals on the M101 I could see what the correct one looked like. Another interesting thing I learned was what the real...

    Support leg lubrication question

I recently acquired an M101 and even though the paint is rough it has many years of life left. I, as well, am slowly going thru it and doing long needed maint. I think mine was modified by someone over its life. When I acquired it the last duty station it had was with the Colorado Forest...

    Support leg lubrication question

I would be surprised if there is a bearing in it. As infrequently as this was designed to "pivot" it might not even have a bushing. Zerks are easily replaced and inexpensive. Remember this is not a high speed axle it is just a pivot. so even a little rust would not doom the part to failure...

Got a new (M275 Tractor) project a few weeks ago

have you thought about replacing the gaskets in your steering box while you have it so accessible? Once you have it all buttoned up it would be a pita to do later and the gaskets are not too pricey.

    Support leg lubrication question

also a waterproof grease axle/bearing will probably be a bit cheaper than trying to load your grease gun with anti seize grease. you can buy tubes of it at the auto parts store that will just slide into your grease gun if you unscrew the end of it. I'll bet the guys at NAPA will show you how...

    Support leg lubrication question

did you figure out it needs a grease gun with either a fixed tube end or hose and you push it onto the grease "zerk" on your support leg right? a bit of grease oozes out the various fittings once you start pumping the handle of the grease gun. eventually it starts oozing out of the landing leg...

G749 Trucks hard to come by

recent sales thru GSA in Colorado A couple weeks ago the Forest service in Ft Collins Colorado auctioned off a couple G749's and a 12 or 15 deuces. They all were in rough shape but fairly complete. I talked to the forest service agent in charge of the site and he thought Boyce bought most of...

    Dump truck on dump truck.

Looks a little more robust than your average farm equipment. More like a well equipped excavation contractor. Nice toys!

GL no longer able to issue Titles

I received a reply from JWADE. He confirmed he is a GovPlanet guy and has no connection with Gov Liquidation. My misnake. With that being said, does anyone know if there is a steel soldier that has an inside track with GovLiquidation? Would be curious to know what the title issue is and if...

GL no longer able to issue Titles

Not sure about the title jumping thing. I know a lot of people that buy and flip vehicles for a living. They usually do some sort of work on them to get them roadworthy. my guess is that is what is happening.

GL no longer able to issue Titles

I believe someone from GL at the Auburn site must be buying vehicles on the open market in Cali and then auctioning them under the GL umbrella. It says in the descriptions that they will be issued Cali titles in the new owners name. I have found some of the vehicles for sale under the previous...

GL no longer able to issue Titles

I wonder if that includes the 3rd party vehicles they are selling out of Auburn Cal?

    LMTV- Colorado to Alaska

???? Perhaps it was my use of the word recovery? Generally, "recovery" means someone is going to pick up a new to them MV somewhere and take it home. Did not mean to suggest you might be going to have an issue enroute. A long drive to Alaska, for me anyways, has always been exciting and...
