Haven't stuck mine yet. Did go thru 6 feet of water last year and successfully rescued 2 dogs for a neighbor.
I wish everyone in this thread would PM 98G and ask him how many M923 it takes to recover a 19k lb. Deere 455G crawler loader from a mudhole. And be sure to ask how many times he...
I am interested in the difference in torque converters between the nhc250 trucks and the 8.3l turbo trucks. How does one tell the difference? Anyone have pictures?
Check the positive battery cable where it passes the back left corner of the engine. Rumor is it rubs there and could cause a short. Have your batteries load tested.
Get a volt meter and check the actual voltage. If I were to guess, I would say the regulator on the alternator has failed.
Wanted to ask Glen if he has any gun ring poles in stock. We are thinking of coming up to Salina to visit Glen March 12-13th to buy some parts and wanted to see what was available.
Question for M813rc: Would an ISO bed tire rack be easier to fit or modify to hold a 16.00r20? The reason I ask is that I have a M923a0 with 16.00's on HEMTT rims.
I am considering changing the entire bed out to an ISO bed. Seeing how the spare tire holder/davit is inside the bed on an ISO...
Caterpillar part # 7N0718. Master switch with 2 keys. Made by Cole Hersee.
This is what I use in my trucks installed in the front face of my battery box, on the ground side of the circuit. Inconspicuous and offers a layer of safety and security by killing all power to the truck and the...
I concur with Artisan about using 98G to transport your truck. He has delivered more than a couple to me, and is very dependable.
I also serve as a shipping/storage hub for him, in case you need a place to repair a broken down truck midway thru the trip.
For a bed vibrator, use a direct drive starter motor with an out of balance weight on the end. That is all the commercial ones are, a starter motor with some mounts and a weld on plate with threaded bolt holes.
No I don't own one, yes I have seen them work and they work well.
I would like to find out where to buy the rods for poking thru the core with the end caps removed. Also, most shops just use cork and a gasket punch set to make their own end cap gaskets one at a time. No one stocks them.
Yes, A1 and a couple A0. Didn't realize the A2 was different, haven't gotten to own one of those yet.
I have a special funnel rigged up for my dodge transmission with 4 ft. of heater hose clamped to it, and stainless safety wire to hold the funnel up. Fun to work on and maintain some of...
I use 2 gallon jugs with a funnel, or wash out empty milk jugs and fill them from a 5 gallon pail, which is cheaper per gallon. Getting a bucket in the cab isn't fun, but splashing it everywhere makes me lose my religion.....
Block heater works excellent.
But being dependent on 110 volt away from civilization could be a weakness. I am guessing the military leaves them running, or parks them close enough together to slave one another while using ether assist.
