That was it. 15 min on the CAT tech's computer and it was done. He had to use a calculator to come up with the correct pulses per mile but after he had the correct value to input it did not take him long.

CAT tech just left and the LMTV now has an accurate speedo and a 330hp flash. When we changed the axle gears from 7.80 to 6.14 the speedo was off by 15mph.
Here is the info you need to give your CAT guy to correct ...
40291 pulses per mile

Does anyone have pics (or have one) of the in-bed 1500# capacity cranes for the M1078? There are 4 square holes in the bed (one at each corner) for this... gotta have one.

I know some of you are project folks so here is some data for you... I measured the axle shafts on my LMTV when I did a gear change in case any of you get the idea to cut down the long side of the housings on a set of these axles and use short side shafts for narrow applications like jeeps...
"The CTIS also controls the locking diff's." from an earlier post.... what locking diffs? I was sad to see open diffs in both front and rear 3rd members in my M1078. No locker available except a $4K quote from Detroit for a prototype run.

Sorry to say it but Mk58 mounts have dried up. I cleaned out crane and bmg building this machine. Buy them when i see them. Watch the tables at gun shows
