    Flat tire??

another thought is that the valve stem on the tube can get pinched and might move around as pressure changes with heat in the tire etc etc. so a careful process of "building" the tire tube combo as its assembled will have an impact on how well the assembly holds up. So yes your correct, the...

    Flat tire??

there are some threads on here and u tube vids that go over how to safely remove the tube from one of these rims. you might consider that as an option for a learning experience. that is one of the good things about a tube type tire. that fact that they can be repaired.

    Flat tire??

you might try a truck tire place like at a truck stop. some of the regular tire stores will be scared off when they find out what kind of rim it is. as it has a tube it should be able to be repaired rather than having to buy a new tire. my two cents

Howdy and welcome from Colorado. If the seller originally acquired it from the government you might ask him if he can request a form sf 97 from them for the vehicle.

    We can Transport it!

Thanks. I want to confirm some dimensions and weights. I can drive on - drive off of an rgn. these MV's have fairly well designed tie down points. time and scheduling is not critical so I can wait till someone is available at their convenience. or if say they want to try to arrange a...

    We can Transport it!

I have a tractor trailer( semi) I need shipped from Broomfield Colorado to Livermore Colorado. approx 100 miles on my odometer. The rig is 111" tall from the ground. I plugged it in to the estimator so I have a ballpark. I was wondering, for such a short haul, will it be pretty hard to get...

    406/Case MB-94 vs FLU419 for ranch

apologies if I was not on track with the discussion. When I saw CASE in the description I mistakenly thought you meant the backhoe not the Case Mog version versus the freightliner mog version. carry on. Lots of nice, modern, low hours cat backhoes coming back as well. Military versions if...

    406/Case MB-94 vs FLU419 for ranch

If you get the right mog it will come with a hydraulic chain saw, large tree/wood bore, jack hammer with spade, rock drill and chisel points. not sure how useful that would be. the loader bucket can be disconnected and replaced with forks. the MB 94 can also have the bucket swapped with forks...

    Bending a M38 frame

while one end is still chained down you and a friend might lift the other end. then twist is lightly back and forth. then lay it back down and see if it is still level. A frame should be able to stand a bit of twist in regular driving and still return to the correct shape. unless this is a...

The things I learned while rebuilding my CTIS

Would you say that overall the CTIS is worth its weight if you drive in a variety of road conditions? If you do get all the parts working properly how long would you expect it to stay that way before things go South on you?

    Newbie what to look for?

The Bobbable and crew cab conversion might be a problem. Most bobbers have the frame length cut down. Once you do that you have a smaller bed. Then converting it to crew cab might make the bed too small to be a worthwhile project. But if you were going for an "Avalanche" type vehicle then...

    Newbie what to look for?

On the title question--if you go the surplus auction route ask for an SF 97 form with your winning bid. It will aid you in obtaining a title eventually. Search here on the forum regarding "obtaining title" or similar. It has been discussed along with insuring these beasts. If you buy locally...
