Interesting question. Always hard to tell someone else what is best for them. Most MV's are relatively slow when you look at the speeds most people travel on the interstate. On the other hand it would probably be hard to find an MV that could not easily tow most travel trailers. Not sure...
What a nightmare. At least it was remedied. Of course the dain bramage from sorting this out won't be compensated for. I will bet this cost the insurance company more than what you paid for shipping. Best wishes here on out with that wonderful piece of MV iron!
Looks like it might have been set up for logging. I would start at the circuit breakers and fuses. Can you tell if the crane is powered by a PTO? If you have not done so already, the Technical Manuals (TM) are located on this site and elsewhere for free. They are gold when it comes to...

Pretty scary deal. Hard to say what caused it. Something defective in the battery would be high on my suspect list. Probably want to check the battery wires very thoroughly. That much heat and energy being dissipated rapidly could cause some hidden damage. I would start at the connection to...
Sorry to hear about the engine damage but it sounds like you have a good plan to get running again. Love the M275. Sure wish I could find the 6 ton flatbed trailer.
This is good thread, good pictures and explanations. Thanks for posting up. Hope your looming deadline still works for your travel plans. will be rooting for a safe and trouble free trip. Keep up the good work!
