I should have done this a couple of weeks ago.
Just wanted to provide a few more pics of a truly historic and ultra rare MV and yes to shamelessly garner some more votes for a very unique members ride.
This MV is not just a half-track, this particular beauty served in four conflicts on as many...
$300 ...going to see if I can get a couple of more pics from the gent there ..especially the data plate, would be nice to see a pic of the hitch end, a shot of the frame, and a close up of those wheels ... Willis made lots different vehicles back in the day ..who knows ☺ ..will not see it until...
Here are some better pics ... chassis is in pretty fair shape , fender clips still in place on the frame, someone did a little "Bubba" change on the hitch but I believe it can be salvaged .. will look for a tub and go from there :grd:
Picked up a 1/4 ton military trailer chassis that I recovered last night ... not sure what type of trailer it is .. landing leg has three holes for detente .. one of the holes is only a half moon instead of a full hole. Lunette is gone but the rest seems to be there. No data plates and no...
Picked these three up this month ... SPEN-S 1/4 Ton Trailer that is in pretty good shape and will be fairly easy to restore .. and then there this rare? and somewhat unusual 1931 Willy's Whippet 1/4 trailer that I purchased yesterday.
Also picked up a 1/4 ton military trailer chassis that I...
Brother in law sent me this Craigslist listing yesterday from CO, contacted owner in CO and picked it up for a very reasonable price .. not seen one like this before. Has anyone seen one of these Whippet trailers or have one like it? Not finding much info on the net .. any assistance much...
53Fox also used a drive on to haul my M37 from WI to PA ...worked well behind my rental truck ...ran into the same m with the straps on the drive on ..used straps and chains with binders on that trip
53Fox, used one just like it to pull my 53M37 behind my Jeep Wrangler (4-Door). It pulled fine, but I had to bring my own straps as the straps on that trailer wont fit over the dodge tires ... used the web straps with the hooks end and just hooked onto the trailer strap and snugged up over the...
Went to recover what I thought was a 1/4 Bantam 3-C in MD (Scrap) .. only to learn after I got it back to the ranch that it was a SPEN-S 1/4 Ton. Its in pretty good shape with at least 5 coats of paint which may be the reason that the body and frame is not rusted out .. Will have to do a little...
Outstanding job and progress .... I use my 37 as a daily driver and am pleased with all the positive comments I receive from folks around town .... my wife told me that it's a "female magnet" and that's why I drive it every day ... gotta admit the lady's do wave when I go by .. but the truth...
K5, Enjoying your build as an M818 owner it's fun you see how others convert their vehicles ...appreciated your investigation into the stud issue and landed up purchasing that same stud for my front axle ... as my current studs are right on the edge with my HEMMIT Wheels ... I put a turbo on my...
Bert that's a good point ... Was thinking of moving the ground wire to the negative post on the cable that runs to ground from the battery box. that would ensure a ground to the frame and I was thinking that my current ground location is not truly going to the frame because of the body's rubber...
I picked up one of those Pulse Solar Chargers here on SS for 24 and 12 systems. It’s a great looking outfit with a good size solar panel, robust wiring, test box, control box with circuit breakers etc. Instructions are very generic and I installed it in my M37 based on the instructions with...
