Truck
Thanks for the help folks. CB is correct... single digit. I ordered a length of 2/0 cable, ends and mil battery clamps from McMaster Carr. I return home on Tuesday and will be able to make the fix.

Truck's name
What do you guys think about a new name for Cranetruck? We have all seen namesake inventions from Mikhail Kalashnikov, Eugene Stoner, John Browning and now we have... the Bjorn.
What say ye? Appropriate I think.

Cranetruck
Anyone driving to the rally from the VA area? I am thinking about bringing the cranetruck home to TX via an appearance at the LA rally. It (and Bjorn) have been missed at the GA rally for years and many of you at this rally are GA participants.
Anyone? Can we get this together...
Thank you
I want to pass along a very heartfelt thank you to Bjorn for selling me the cranetruck. It will be used weekly on the farm.

Hey Folks...
Had the pump on my M916 serviced. Ran 70 MPH home from Houston. It was nice to pass other folks in an MV.
If you read my posts you will remember that I had trouble with the pushbutton allison in my M923E3 and I fixed the drama with an $800 pushbutton module.
Here we go...
Texans...
The Texas crew is growing... Mr. George, Joe Z and John will be in tow with me. We will bring the track. It is running good this week.

For the shirt... This year is the 70th anniversary of the Alaskan Highway that was built by the Army Corps of Engineers... don't know how that ties in with Louisianna though. :cookoo:
Put the little Pom on the shirt... oh wait that does not relate either...

Tracks
I have for a long time had a soft spot for tracks. I have owned M29 Weasel, M116 Husky, XM474 Pershing Missile carrier and M47 Patton tank.
The XM474 is papered for road use and I take it out for a Saturday night steak often. I agree with Stuart... a mid-sized track is a good choice...
Portable Shooting Table
I have been on hiatus from green things but I am getting back in the groove.
We installed an MSD ingnition, Holley Truck Avenger 670 carb and 3/4" steel side rails with gun mounts at the top of each verticle.
Here are some pics of the post work fun...

bridge truck
If it were me I would go with a bridge truck. You have a lot of options with a roll-back that you do not have with a simple rear winch...
