Does FL require the vehicle to be 20 years or older for FMV tags?
Just curious, doesn't effect me since I'm in CO. Which may be one of the worst states to try and register a MV.
I always thought FL was a very vehicle friendly state and would be an easy place to register a HUMVEE. Guess I was wrong. Very disappointing. Seems we're really fighting a losing battle, with so many states enacting laws/rules against MV registration.
It would sure be nice if that could work, but I'm not sure if you'd be able to get a straight shot top to bottom, I think the shock body would get in the way.
25" is a nice height. Not much down travel, but very good clearance and should have lots of compression with the softer spring rate. BTW, if you haven't tried it, pull the sway bar sometime and see what a big difference it makes in articulation. I actually always run mine without the sway...
They couldn't get it installed? Did they not have a spring compressor? I'm curious to hear how the ride height turns out. Might want to cut a little more off the rear springs to level it (I think you cut 1 coil off the rear too, right?)
The bilsteins I used only come in a 255/70 valving. In...
You're title has been mailed?!!?!? I'm soooo jealous! Dang, I bought mine 2 weeks after you and they haven't even sent off my SF97 request paperwork yet 😢😢😢
I do wonder how a persons liability in an accident differs based on the state a vehicle is registered in. Assuming you have insurance that meets CO regulations; are you really any more liable in an accident if your vehicle is registered in another state? Does it matter if you just came here...
I'm happy that there are options for us to get vehicles registered, but I would like to see my home state change to a more favorable view of military vehicles. I agree that lobbying would be the place to start, although honestly I hate the thought of any lobbying or litigation being necessary...
A while back I sold a couple parts to a Colorado Lawyer who is a HUMVEE owner. I need to see if I still have his contact info somewhere. Maybe he'd be interested in pursuing something.
I haven't had much time to start mocking up the procharger yet, but I do plan to at least do a fresh set of head gaskets and ARP studs. I won't be too upset if I catastrophically find the boost limit, as long as I find it relatively close to home.
Gov may be a big part of the problem, but I don't think GP is without issue. I picked up my 1st HMMWV at the beginning of Sep and they still have not even submitted a SF97 request for my vehicle (as of last week when I called).
Based on what I've read, I expected my 2nd EUC to go much...
ARGH!!! I know this an EUC thread, but I am so frustrated about my SF97/Title. I picked up my HMMWV 02 Sep. I have been checking on the status of title every couple weeks for the last couple months and always get the same story: "We just got a new batch back and your SF97 is in the next batch...
Thanks for the update. Wow, I'm surprised it's so light. I was supposed to install these same springs in the front of a HMMWV a couple weeks back, but found some bad ball joints and have been waiting on some new moog units. I was planning to run them uncut, which sounds like the right option...
I haven't found time to do the fronts yet but have been studying the shock adapters. It looks like Bilstein shocks use a 1/2 bolt. If I have a 1/2 id adapter it will not fit. correct? Did you use a different size? It looks like the adapters are going to be about 125.00 in materials.
1/2" id is...
Which radiator did you go with? Are you running the stock HMMWV fan, or the duramax fan (or something else)?
BTW, you ever done a 0 to 60 run on the duravee? Curious how fast it is. Bet it's pretty fun.
I have a GEP engine.
The primary advantage of a procharger is that I happen to already own one.
It will not compete with a turbocharger for efficiency, but I do love the instant boost and standalone oiling system. The rising boost curve is typically very easy on an engine and its capable of...
