Some of the OZ (Australia Members) have had good luck with using SPF 50+ Sunscreen applied on tyres and dash pads to prevent drying and cracking. It will last for a month or more if put on and it does not rain.
I highly and totally support using Seat Belts in any unit with a cab and doors. My opinion and it's worth just what you are paying for it is that in an open jeep with no ROPS and no doors it's more like a motorcycle than a car and I would not install or wear a Seat Belt.

When you get set to take your trip through Canada let the board know your route and dates. There are many up here in the Great White North that can offer help and assistance and even some advice. Lots of us can offer places to park and stay and BBQ and Beer. (Beware it will be REAL beer).
I strongly recommend you do not take a Military Vehicle to Mexico. I double my recommendation if it is still painted in Military colours or cammo. You will also get in trouble if it has any kind of weapon mount.
