Turn Signal Control Arm Bulb Replacement?

Let me contribute to the "How many pages does it take to change a light bulb" thread :goodjob: I just replaced the turn signal indicator bulb with this one. There are cheaper ones on Amazon now. LED-24-BA9S-W - 24-28VAC/DC T3-1/4 BA9S WHITE Very bright. This is ok where you only need light in...

Is a friction modifier required for M998 differentials?

Another newbie question. Does the differentials on the M998 require a differential friction modifier if the 75W-90 Gear Oil does not have it? Thanks in advance!

M998 with Brush Guard - any off the shelf options for winch mount?

Well I actually found a picture of a winch mount with Luverne brush guard - I just don't know where I could get one. Or perhaps this was a custom made one.

M998 with Brush Guard - any off the shelf options for winch mount?

He does not offer one that would fit.

M998 with Brush Guard - any off the shelf options for winch mount?

Another possibility from RetiredWarHourses: I see that Block Dog Customs sell those winch specific plates. Requires powder-coating which is not a problem. Just a more expensive option as those Sherpa winches are pricey!

Got the answers. Not what I wanted to hear

M998 with Brush Guard - any off the shelf options for winch mount?

I have done a ton more reading but I am still confused. I would greatly appreciate any additional advice from the collective. I think a front winch is all I need. I don't want a receiver type front mount. At the moment, I am thinking about using a Mile Marker SEC12 12,000 lb Waterproof 24V...

M998 with Brush Guard - any off the shelf options for winch mount?

Another newbie inquiry. I tried a search but I am not finding anything close that helped. I have a M998 and I would like to keep the brush guard on the front and the rear bumper and I am looking for winch mount for either the front or rear. Might there be some off-the-shelf winch mount...

    Recommendations for a Tach on a '92 M998 with a 6.2 and a generator

All good with the advice on this forum. No way to get at it without taking off the dog house. Was not to bad with the AC underneth the radio shelf, I just had to remove the four bolts for the radio shelf, and then I was able to crack open the Dog House several inches without disturbing the AC...

    Recommendations for a Tach on a '92 M998 with a 6.2 and a generator

Thank you for all the info folks. So I picked up a 3500 RPM black tach for just a bit over $100. I think I will try to make my own mount and if it looks like crap I can always buy something else later. I wanted to find that sensor on the engine so I opened the hood and I believe I saw it way on...

    Recommendations for a Tach on a '92 M998 with a 6.2 and a generator

Can anyone point me to an aftermarket housing or mount that is close? My fabrication skills are not that great.

    Recommendations for a Tach on a '92 M998 with a 6.2 and a generator

Hi Folks - another newbie seeking more wisdom  I did a search and found lots of information on how people installed a tach on later Humvees with the 6.5 and alternators. But mine is a 6.2 and has a generator. I will probably mount mine high like shown here: I see that most of the...

24v battery maintainer set up help

I resurrect this old thread but will add what I did in-case it helps someone. I got a NOCO GENIUS GEN5X2, 2-Bank, 10-Amp (5-Amp Per Bank) Fully-Automatic Smart Marine Charger and mounted it behind the front seat battery compartment and fished the leads through a convenient hole there into...

Hazard Flasher does not function, Turn Signals fine?

I replaced the 4 blackout lights bulbs and they work fine. Just the hazard flasher does not seem to work.

Hazard Flasher does not function, Turn Signals fine?

Another Newbie question. I thought the lights I had on my M998 were fine, at least the turn signals, stop lights and headlights. The BOL were not working. So I took apart just the rears and I found the inside of the rear lights were about half way filled up with mud! Also, the lens assembly...

m998 parking brake on driveline Rod Spring Placement

Funny - I just replaced mine a couple days ago too. Here is the broken one so you can see where it goes. $1.30 for the spring and $20 for shipping!

    Buyer's Regret?

One thing I did not expect is most of the "surplus" parts suppliers really rip you off big time on shipping! For example, i needed a parking brake spring. $1.36 was ok. $18 for shipping! And it takes 2 weeks for that? :poop:

Wife wants me to do the unthinkable due to the Florida DMV debacle!

I have established a business in Vermont, and the paper work is in to the Vermont DMV to have the M998 to be registered to the business, with a Vermont address on the registration. My name and address will not be on the registration. Sure, they can still cite me, arrest me, or impound the...

Success! Tag arrived and took it for our first real drive. So almost a six week process start to finish.
