As a long time lineman, and heavy equipment operator, I ask, how did the guy throwing the sling live through that? He is a blessed man. JT out

    Blue/whitesmoke when retro shifting

I think it is oil going by the rings and or valve guides during downshifting, in my opinion. If you are not using an abnormal amount of engine oil for the miles you drive, I would say you are all right. If you have Marvel Mystery oil available over there, that added to your crankcase could help...

What do you think....1979 Kaiser Rotator Boom Wrecker

Hey Hub, you oughta look up Dabtl on SS, he's in Denton too. Your 816 wrecker takes all the same parts as the older M543 wrecker. There are lots of them around. The crack might have happened from water in the oil in that case, should check them all for water. Good luck, have fun. JT out

    Value of Sprag Transfer Cases

I removed a complete parking brake assembly from a sprag transfer case today, it is the exact same as an airshift transfer case. Oh, it's also the same shoes as go on a 5 ton transfer case too. They are worth a lot more than what you will get for scrap. Then you have the speedo adaptor, when you...

What is a set of Warn front locking hubs for a Deuce worth?

Warn made hubs for the M35 at least as early as Vietnam, say 1967. AVM has made M35 lockout hubs since 1957. The Warns with 16 splines and 8 bolt holes in good condition are worth as much as you will pay up to the cost of new AVMs at my place. JT out

    Purchasing advice needed

How could it be a Mack if it was built in 1978?, A1's were built before A2's. A2's use a multifuel. After that didn't they change to 800 series and the tractor wrecker is called out as 819. So, I guess the answer is it's not a 1978. Wish I had a 5 ton A1 with a Mack. JT out

    Value of Sprag Transfer Cases

Gringltaube is right on the money. Many of the parts in a sprag unit will work in an airshift. And if enough people would ask Memphis Equipment to make another production run of REB kits for the sprag deuce transfer case, they might do it. I have a couple of REB kits in deuces and they work...

    Horn won't stop

Where the wire comes through the bottom of the steering column is a very common cause of the horn blowing by it self. Check from there to where it goes across the truck to the horn itself. JT out

    Fuel Filter Gaskets

Just for the sake of answering your question, the gasket for the primary filter is a NAPA 5131. the secondary filter gaskets are NAPA 5070 and the oil filter gaskets are NAPA 5119. They are all available, I buy them 100 at a time. If anyone really can't get them I can send them out. But it...

    winch, roller fairlead question

I failed to mention, it has a pulley in it with guide plates to keep the cable in the sheave. It can be pinned in from under the truck to keep it from bouncing out.

    winch, roller fairlead question

Tatra 813, The vertical receiver type hole at the rear of the body is for a factory made guide that is used on electric line trucks and pole setting trucks. You can set it straight or at an angle. Not hard to find where ever you see line trucks for sale. It completely takes care of your...

Deuce Tire, What type is this

M813rc, Your story is great. Reminds me of driving my Gun Truck, Aces & Eights , home from the Northeast Vietnam Veterans Reunion last July 28th in a Heck of a rain storm. Take a look at my avatar, no cab cover , no windshield wipers. At 50 MPH+ the rain doesn't make it into the cab. Anything...

    DEUCE spin on oil filters!!!!

I don't often comment on posts having to do with my products, I feel as though some people would say I hold a biased opinion. So, in this particular instance, I am commenting as a member only, but one with hard learned experience. The adaptors that Oliver/ White made and sold in previous years...
