Thats the strangest part Barrman it is surprisingly quiet, it was deafening the way it was before. Again very counter intuitive compared to throwing this same setup on a SBC or BBC it would be a very loud exhaust. I have noticed a slight decrease in fuel mileage also. This good be because it...
Well this weekend I decided to cut off the mufflers and tailpipes because they tailpipes were so out of whack and rusted with pin holes. I replaced with just glass packs for now and will be getting new tailpipes custom bent to go straight out the back, down pipes are like new.
Is this setup ok...
So pretty standard procedure to just hammer it along like that?
I feel like I should be towing my dual axle trailer with my mud truck on it everywhere I go just to calm it down a little...
So finally got to try the cucv on the road...wow does this thing seem wound out but i think it is what it is. Thought trans was not shifting into 3rd but it is, when manually shifted you cant go more than like 28mph and once in drive position 55mph is it. Has reasonable good power iam used to...
I would really like to see a few more side view pics of this truck with the 6" rough country lift. This is the lift I will be installing once they become available hopefully around the 8th of April...so they say.
Nice work on the build... I like the door panel rehab in particular, I will be...
I was actually quite pleased to see this truck had the front locker in it regardless of what model it says in the door and the vin.....lol. The guy I bought it from had two of these trucks and stripped the other for parts to use on the one I have now and still had the axles saved in a shed which...
Okay so after looking at the cucv wiki it seems i have a 1028 doesnt really jive with vin but regardless it is what it is. So I guess now my question is with the limited slip front should i be using a different fluid than regular gear oil? I have a service manual but dont see a reference to a...
So according to the vin (1GCGD) it is a 1008. Do the 1008s have the limited slip from factory? It doesn't look like the axle has been changed. Not a huge deal just curious.
There is another no. CD30930 on the door plate.
Pulled front diff cover off to change fluid and my truck has the limited slip front, did m1008s come with this option or is the truck another model? Thanks
Had a chance to look at where this outlet goes and it seems it is just connected via a wire down the firewall, along the frame and to the bumper where there is a plug in end the opposite of the one under the hood(pronged). I guess they were just using the length of the truck as another extension...
Ya sorry the pics suck...the cables are just where the battery cables are routed between batteries. The batteries are disconnected right now because iam redoing the front grill/Radiator support and installing new fender inner fender. Havent traced any of it but will be shortly havent test for...
Wondering what this outlet is under the hood? The bumper has a the pronged end of this. Any help on what it does and how it works would be appreciated.
First off thanks for your help as well cpf240 it is very much appreciated that you take time out to answer and comment on my somewhat repetitive line of question and answer dealing with this issue ...now that the formalities are out of the way.
Went home got gen1 hooked up as it should be...
Yes the alt had the washers in place I was right there when the rebuild man pulled it apart, the ground wire to engine was just in the wrong spot. I think the previous owner didnt realize it was a isolated ground alt and just hooked it up like a regular vehicle would be.
Iam going to have new...
Yes im getting it slowly...thank you again for your assistance Warthog. Mostly just correcting what was wrong from previous owner...no wonder he was sick of it and sold it. Its all there though just got to keep troubleshooting and get things the way they should be.
