I decided to not like that switch and went with the Haldex.

Don't fix it improper. I used the Haldex switch and even remoted a LED to the dash just to tell me the switch was working. Never failed. Mine did not tell me the rear stop lamps were actually illuminating, just that the air pak switch was functioning properly. It took me 4 hours to find all this...
If you don't like the engine and want to do major repairs, engine replacement, then just use either on Her.

Lastly, is there away to bypass all of the electronics and simply use the generator as a
standby generator with a 2-wire start/stop?
I just put a sight glass in the cab to act as a reservoir. All the tubing and the sight glass held enough and I could watch the level go up and down on brake applications. Remember to remove the splash plate in the MC.
I have one sight glass left if you are interested.

The Hellcat is also cheap because it's made cheaply. The only thing that isn't cheap is the supercharged V8 because that's the main selling point, and if it were to break down more than it all ready...
