I am thinking of just cutting the boxes off as all 4 pieces are really crummy and hinges beat up and just use 2 m149 boxes that bolt on and preserving the clasps that are unique to the m107. Compromises to keep it as original as possible.
I have found only data plates for M107A2C so that is...
I have had no luck in finding them for a m107, part number 8384106 nsn 5342-00-420-4988.
I think that since they are welded, maybe not replaced often and I think these trailers were 60-70's manufacture. Not sure when the last M107A2C were produced?
Is that your beauty?
Most awesome workmanship.
Yes my boxes are welded like that but definitely don't look like those. They are dented, rusted. and just plain beat up.... I might have GoldnEagle help me fabricate replacements or cut the remains off and use M149 bread boxes but I can only find...
Just acquired a Water Buffalo from TimNTrucks and in the process of fixing her up. I estimate she is from the mid 60's-70's. No data plate but Id her from the tm as the A1. Single air line, single wheel cyls, and I have a plate over the water pipes inbetween the bread boxes.
1. Are the bread...
Tire is probably ok as is just went flat. Maybe jack up and leave supported till you can get to it. For piece of mind, change tube if that is the problem and rotate to a rear position and vice versa.
Easiest thing would be to just change your riser to a taller one. I assume you have a class 3 or 4 reciever hitch, so they are easy to find. With the multiple holes you can always adjust down with other equipment. They are not too outrageous.
Pic of my set up.; not an expedition but a tahoe...
Check out a m1073; bigger 7 1/2 ton step brother to m1061. It has the channel on outside. I dont recall exact width.
It has a slide out arm so it can be hitched at 2 different heights specifically for towing behind a m113 I think. Arm is longer than the A frame.
I think the front a frame is...
Old thread I know but i was researching M107's as I just got one.
That looks like a m101 variant /trailer salad...of the axle and running gear with M37 16 inch wheels is my swag.
My 107a1 frame and cross members do not look like that but on the other hand the fender does....
Mine also has...
Ymmv, but my unscientific view point is that I have the rear fender antenna towers and think they might offer a minuscule higher level of protection....
Theories I never want to test.
Any of the older non metric 8 lug wheels will fit from dodge , ford, or gm typically 70- early 90's. They are lug centric on a m116a2/3 not hub centric so the middle hole can be larger with no problems. Also very common for boat and utility 8 lug civy trailers.
I have used this route many times and recommend it.
Notice there are 2 Maine companies with almost the same url that specialize in this with slightly different pricing so do your home work.
I recommend this one:
