Well now, we know what you want for yours & the market can adjust accordingly; or not. Mine are going on my trucks when the mosquitoes go away from the 32" of rain we got last month.
Thanks again for the help with the M-1082 trailer moving last month. :goodjob:
Is the problem backing in reverse up an incline? These trailers are known to exhibit that trait. Other than that, I would never disable or remove them. If you are involved in an accident, the police report will include the fact that the existing brakes were tampered with/deactivated/removed.
At the last Mt Dora winter meet, there was a guy selling these LED lights either singly or by the crate off of his flatbed transport truck. The crate contained the entire wiring harness, switches, mounting hardware & instructions on how to hook up. I will leave off the price I paid for the...
The only downside of air brakes is learning about them or allowing the brake shoes to rust to the drums from non-use. Also, there is no DOT-5 brake fluid to worry about, just free air. Air brakes are good!
That is what I put in my Deuce & the M1081; the H4 was a direct replacement. My LMTV came with both headlights broken out, sort of like the OP. Your choice of bulb can really light up the road.
Good looking truck, glad you made it home safely. You will like the new air dryer from Suprman, I just installed the one I got from him & it works great. Your old one would have to be thrown away anyway, so no loss there. Your headlights are 12 vdc, so pick out something bright so you can see...
You are not watching the postings, he flew out to Oregon & drove it most of the way home...till Murphy showed up.
James, that open hood shot is nothing short of amazing; you seriously scored on buying this truck. Awesome find & deal./
Yes, home safe & sound. Now, when you shake off all the days of driving, you can get to work on her.
Your lake is really up with all the rain we have been getting. Congratulations on getting her home (you too) in one piece.
Here is a picture of the completed install on my M1081 of the new air drier. It was done differently than the majority of the installations posted here.
James has gotten a stepdeck & tractor to bring him back to Florida, whats amazing is that he put it all together since I posted this morning & is on the road as I type this message. I told him to leave murphy up in Kentucky & not bring him back to Florida.
I talked with James this morning about 08:00 & his alternator has died, something about the positive stud has come out of it. He is somewhere in Kentucky, he didn't elaborate due to being frustrated. He is trying to find a shop that might be able to repair or replace the alternator problem. If...
After my last divorce, I was lucky & kept my house, guns & trucks. No more wives for me & I get to buy what I want & can afford. You guys with good wives for all these years, you are blessed & smart.
To the OP, post some pictures of your new truck, we all like pictures or it didn't happen.
I pulled the old original air dryer off the M1081 this morning to see what it looked like inside as far as clean/wet. I can't post pictures from home, but the base of the original unit was full of tan mud....emulsified water & oil. No way was this thing doing any air drying, should have listened...
Good to hear that you are able to easily fix it & cure the unknown cancer of steel before it got too bad. Hopefully, HD paid you a fair amount for your labor also.
This afternoon, upon cranking up the M1081, she decides to show me another twist in the "What is wrong with me today show". The transmission filter plate, over the drive shaft, has started leaking when running @ about a drop every two seconds, class 3 leak for sure. I have a filter replacement...
My M1081 does the same thing, the loud rush of air from around the base of the holder, but I believe that it is from the leaking airbags. Those bags are high on the list of things needing replacing.
I should have listened to you guys last year, but the dryer seemed to be still working. Fast forward to earlier this week, I am blowing water out of the tanks. Suprman is shipping me a new Haldax unit & the old one will be replaced. I did order a new universal base plate to attach the new dryer...
