    M939 Tie Rod Ends

I seem to have only one pair of left and right thread and several of the right hand thread. I don't have the 5 ton to measure, what is the tube length ? I can get 35.5" using the pair, more if I sleeve it.(with quality weld).

    Identify these aluminum fmtv wheels

    I'll bet that is a 13.19 bolt circle. Yea MRAP....and a 25,000 ag hub.

Converting a regular bed to drop side

Okay...but if you chose the SS bed, the 50 years in design difference make it have anything but an original appearance. They can be made fit rather easy. It would seem you keep trying for an oem if welding is not your mo.

M817 5 ton Dump, front axle Questions

How are you checking engagement? The front turns at a different rpm than the rear and the sprag does not lock in unless the rear is slipping. The front is like 16/1 and the rear is 17/1. Sprag releases the difference. You should hear the cylinder shifting forward to reverse but no air leaks...

    M939 Tie Rod Ends

I have a bunch of new tie rods with ends that I got years ago at a salvage yard. They made me cut them in half, but they were new. I don't know about size but Ill go get one and see. What I don't see is the thread part in your video. I checked and the thread seems to be 1 1/4"- 12 and the...

    Engine swap poll

The 327, 350 are good alternative crate engines too and yes, I like the alternative to OEM. Would seem more efficient to do tranny at the same time as engine. What gears do you have? With higher rpm for today's engine, rpm may be an issue. Did you search for prior discussion ?

    Will these rims fit?

That is a 13.19" bolt circle (I think) which is the MRAP and also the same as 25,000 lb agriculture hub....but not the 923. The tires will work on your 923 single rims...they appear to be 395/85/r20

Ford van rims give you 16" but not as wide as you want. Have you tried hummer tires and wheels (16.5")?

Twisted pintle plate, M1102 need advise

Bolt is behind ram so it cannot actuate. Has to be close to ram so there is no play. These are supposed to be free backing but I don't always trust them. Look to see if the leverage loosened up the Reece (square in square) hitch. I'm with csmDavis....too small hitch. Consider a ball.

    M35A2 Rear Harness

Jim.. To get watertight on splice with shrink tube, coat it with black silicone, then shrink the cover or covers.

    M35A2 Rear Harness

I have replaced two jail high security system that used DC and the reason they failed was the connectors that made them "modular"....just plug together. I found a "boundary effect" between the wire and the multi pen connectors, eat away the copper wire and stop making contact. Most would just...

    are bobbed deuce shocks necessary?

They work best when as near the wheel as possible and at 90* to the up down travel. Also the shackle angle matters, is best at around 15*. I went with 10 leafs and air for overloads. I don't have the topmount built yet. With stiff springs and 16.00, they would seem to have only a small...

What did you do to your trailer today.

Can it be used to charge a trailer set of batteries? What could limit the flow (amps) so it does not burn up? Like for batteries on a dump trailer or ??

    M35A2 Rear Harness

Maybe one of the vendors will have the half you are looking for. Mine is being re-used. On mine, those 7 wires ( from the connector) now go to a control box and a 3 wire so cord goes from the control box to each light... which are all now LED with high and low. Being one of the slowest...

Converting a regular bed to drop side

I had a 1078 bed, new, and decided the more than 50 years difference in design made an oil-water combination (putting on the deuce). But wow, the guy that bought it put it on a brand new 4x4 big crew cab and it looked incredible. He cut and welded every possible direction. It seem the simple...

Converting a regular bed to drop side

I don't see it as being too difficult if you are good at cutting while hugging the floor. You will need to keep both sides of the cut useable, like using a long fine tooth saws all blade held down against the floor. Then use angle to weld back on the bottom of the side plus make hinge. Put...

Slide-in camper Will it fit in M1102 bed?

You don't have as much front overhang as expected. Making trailer from the back of a pickup works too. I made a trailer from a dually and it pulled great.
