believe what u want, i 've been running reg gas in my 61 M51 with the 602 in it for 15 yrs now, still runs like a champ. one time it did run like crap after sitting for a while ,and would'nt go over 35 mph, i put in 5 gals of high test and that fixed the problem. been good ever since. good...
block heater is the way to go if a storm was predicted and it was cold i'd plug the truck in and it was nice and toasty when i had to go out to plow. i had one that u put one end in you're block drain and the other end in you're heater hose, and the thing worked great for 13 yrs in mass...
i ran a 12 volt plow pump on 24 volts in my 5 ton for 12 yrs. before it finally gave out. and i lifted that 12 foot plow alot of times in that 12 yrs. it sure went up fast too.
y0u can also use a power disconnect switch from a catterpillar machine. you can even use the key switch ,if u want to take the key with u. of course anyone with a CAT key could start you're truck. but if someone wants you're truck they will take it.

what I think I see is you're winch control lever is near the floor ?? is it like that with the safety latch engaged?? something looks off . .what I do regularly is squirt all the pivot points with old motor oil, besides hitting the grease fittings. don't know if I'm being much help, or just...
when u say the dump lever goes up and down. on my m-51 the dump lever stands straight up. when in the hoist position, all the way towards front, which is straight up, you can't get out of the truck, because the handle is right at you're hip. one pos. back is hold, next pos. back is press...
