No I didn't use any RTV. Just the paper gaskets. As said before just make sure you clean the area well and vacuum up the mess in the engine valley after and make sure you don't get anything into the ports on the head.
Re: What have you done to your CUCV today/lately?
Installed new power steering lines. Looked like a walk in the park until I actually got my hands in there. The new lines had a slightly different bend on the hard line part. Nothing that a little tweaking and bending couldn't take care of though.
I use the WIX 33005 filter. I filters down to 3 microns I think. If you look in that thread I posted, on the last page there is some talk about the different filters and microns. There was also a chart online that I had but can't find it now. If I find it ill post I up later.
There is a small lever behind the seat on the right or left side, that lets the backrest fold forward. Then behind the seat, close to the floor, there is a black handle. Pull up on it. That should unlatch the seat from the floor and let it fold forward and up much like in a Jeep. Maybe have to...

Picked up the power steering line going from the gearbox to the hydroboost. Hopefully installing this weekend.
I've priced out pump rebuilds and Badger seems to have the best price going right now. He's a really nice guy too. I've ordered other parts from him before. I'm planning on just buying a pump outright and not sending mine back as a core. I would rather hand on to it just in case.
I don't have any experience with the squeeze bulb but, I did use a brass ball valve on one of the holes on the WIX base. I put a couple feet of rubber fuel hose and drained towards the ground along the frame rail. I just crack the valve, crank the motor and she bleeds out. Just gotta remember to...
I drive my M1009 every day. She's been starting fine with just one cycle on the GP's. She sounds like a coffee can full of nuts and bolts when you first start it on a really cold morning.
I'm trying to seal up my hardtop windows on my M1009. They were leaking a little and figured I would take them apart and clean and re-seal everything. My question is when re-installing, do I install rubber onto the top then put the glass into it or do I install the rubber around the glass and...
Replaced the push button for my glow plug system. I'm still working on replacing rubber fuel lines and tracking down why I'm having hard starting issues in the morning.
