    charging 6utl batteries

RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: charging 6utl batteries I install master disconnect switches in all of my trucks. The Cole-Hersee 1000amp switch costs $58 at Napa and is well worth it. I have them for $48. I sell them at the East Coast shows all season. Break the negative and mount in the floor under the...

    Jatonka... AVM... update?

RE: Re: RE: Jatonka... AVM... update? The AVM hubs were first built in 1957 for M35s. I borrowed a set off an M108 light crane to send for a sample to AVM. They built me a new set for my approval. I run some of my trucks at work. Only when my customers can't get it done with civial trucks. The...

m51a2 Brakes will not release after driving a distance

mbware, you don't need to buy a special part, just drill a small hole in center of the one you have on it. Start with a 1/16" hole. You'll be all set. JT

m51a2 Brakes will not release after driving a distance

check the vent on the glad hand cover on right front fender. if plugged, your brakes will lock when applied. Had same problem on my M51A2, replaced everything with new parts, had to bleed every time I used the brakes. Pulled some hair out, listened to Wrecker One from NJ and fixed my problem. JT

    NHC250 needs more power

Chiming in with maybe useless informatrion here, but I'm going to try to help those who will listen. Cummins 855 engines, also known as NHC 250, and others, do NOT turn over 2100 RPMs and live long. Ask any real Cummins mechanic, don't trust me. Of course, I've been around Cummins and owned them...

    2.5ton vs 5ton axles

If we are referring only to axles, I agree with Memphis Equipment's figures. If you want to Know what the suspension is good for, reduce by 2000# on the front axle to 9000#.. Reduce on the rear tandem by 4000# to 24000#. This would work for occasional loading. On an everyday basis, you should...

    M35 Power steering choices

I have an air-o-matic setup off a Brockway. When I contacted the company and asked to buy rebuild kit for the aircylinder and the correct length and angle drag link/air valve assembly they told me very clearly I could buy a new complete steering kit for my M35 cheaper than the sum of the parts...

    427 Hypercycle vs. 465 Multifuel

Well, The turbo on a 427 hyprercycle was for power, not to clean the exhaust. The injector pump moved a lot of fuel into the engine, guess that's why they smoke SOOOO much. My experience with the M35A1 truck is that it has a lot more on the ground horsepower than any M35A2 I own. I own a lot of...

    427 Hypercycle vs. 465 Multifuel

We are planning on taking the intake, exhaust manifolds and turbo charger from an expended LDS 427-2 and installing on one of our LD 465-1C engnes. We also plan on installing the 427 injector pump and...
