I dont have too much for photos. I have trouble finding time to work on the truck, so its even more difficult to find time to take pictures as I go. Here are a couple of the outside, and a couple of the inside (although the inside has a few changes from when these pics were taken). Obviously...
Yes, it would work for any of them. It basically makes the rear axle into what a front axle would be as far as the lockouts are concerned. So any lockout that works on the front hub of a deuce will also work on a rear hub if it has this double splined shaft. I'm not sure who else besides...
Yep, 1 lockout hub and 1 axle shaft with splines on both ends. This is the one I used and I got it from TIE6044 (Scott). http://www.ouversonusa.com/rockwell_16spline.php
(Sorry, just realized I missread your question, I ended up putting the lockout on the front driverside tandem axle which...
I agree. You can get them from Scott (Tie6044) as he mentioned in post 11. He is a great guy to deal with and good friends with Randy Ouverson so its a win all the way around. I think the Ouversons must be the only deuce lockouts that actually use a bearing rather than a bushing.... apparently...
here is a good post that compares the 2 (Ouverson vs AVM): http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?21495-AVM-vs-Ouverson-take-a-closer-look!&p=221043&viewfull=1#post221043
Challenge not accepted:)
The lockouts really are simple and would be easy to make with the exception of the spline rings inside. The only equipment I have access to that could make those rings would be WIRE EDM machines, and it would take probably 8 hours to cut each one. I think these are...
The LED lights are all 12-24v and low wattage so you can just use a common ground wire, then the positive wires I have going to different switches. The lights I have (will have) wired seperately. The attached pic is the control pendant I made that has switches for it all. The search light has a...
You could see if Matt (VINTAGE IRON) would trade you a set of his MRAP rims and 1400 tires for the ones you are getting, He has some left but was keeping them for his own projects, but I'm sure he would entertain a trade, they are taller tires too than the 395s. His MRAP rims are the less common...
I've flirted with the idea of putting LED bulbs in my armored lights. I believe the bulb is a Par36 and both Grote and Truck-Lite make LED lights that should mount in.

Just used this yesterday, Thanks! I know this thread is old, but it was a smart idea to group the instructions with the figures in powerpoint & PDF like you did. Made the job easy to print out and follow. I wish we had more of the common fixes and adjustments put together. Bump.
I bought some Selectro lockouts in December I think. The cheapest place I could find them was truckandwinch.com that had them listed for about $500, I ordered them and they cancelled my order saying they couldnt get them but I suspect they realized their cost was probably higher than the listed...
Now that winter appears over, I took yesterday off work to finish painting all the wheels and adjusting the brakes. Here are some pics of my 109A3. The only unique things I did due to the wheels were modify the spring shims (Gringletaube mod) from a 4 degree to a 1 degree angle (cant remember...
DUAL CIRCUIT POWER BLEEDER ideas
I found some Master cylinder resevoir caps that will mount to the late model A2 trucks with the dual circuit brakes. My intention is to build a power bleeder similar to the single circuit units sometime but not sure when I'll get to it. So here is the info on...
Just got a similar brake issue resolved myself thanks to Gringletaube and this thread: http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?89898-M35A2C-master-cylinder-failure
In my case (and a couple other posts I have seen now) the pushrod that comes from the brake pedal and goes into the Master...
Gringeltaube, you nailed it again! After much frustration and work (not to mention Money spent ordering some airpack rebuild kits and orings for the MC) I checked the pushrod, and found that it had come out of the piston bore in the M/C so it was pushing against the face of it. So as you...
This thread has been the most helpfull to me so far with regards to the dual circuit master cylinder on the late model A2's, and the A3's:

Okay guys, I need some dual circuit help. I still cant figure out whats going on with my truck.
Yesterday I changed out the right steer wheel brake cylinder because it had some leaking I found behind the seal, other than that everything was working fine. I then bled the brakes per the single...
Post 31 & 33 talk about how he used a pressure bleeder. I was wondering if we could just hook up 10psi air to the 1/4" reservoir vent line on the firewall to pressurize and power bleed it, you would just have to keep the reservoir full though right.
I'm glad I finally found this thread! Today I replaced a wheel cylinder (right steer) on my 88 Air force M109A3 with the dual circuits. Bled the brakes and the brake pedal will not move now, its hard as a rock. At first the brakes were locked, I drained all the air and the brakes were still...
