I have all the filters and canisters if you need them. Just aend me a pm with excatly which ones. I have complete sets as well. No fuel cap though. The hr meters arent exactly reliable on these machines. Who knows the history of the meter. Also, it would pribably be best if you posted this in...
yes unless the procedure for diesels is different than gas then your low on compression my friend. with all the glow plugs out, so it free spins when cranking, that is when it should be checked. engine doesnt need to be hot or warm. as jerry said it might add a few psi but not enough to get into...
if you got just a regular pressure gauge, i believe you have to have one with a check valve inside so the psi builds and you can read it. most comp testers have a schrader valve of some sort in them.....just a thought
Jerry you know the problem was that this generator was going too smooth and easy. Last thing to do was flow time the pump and that where the $hit hit the fan lol. In any case I got it all sorted now. I ran the thing today for a couple hours at about 100-110%. It runs fantastic.
Hours...oh boy...
thanks, i really doubt the guy will use it. maybe once in a great while. he is just into really cool old stuff. i have restored quite a few things for him over the years. old caddys, antique oil pumps, etc.
so i have been working on my last 003. i finally got it done and running. thought i would share some pics. this one i did for a customer of mine. he saw my first one then said he had to have it. over the past few months both jerry and gimpy have supplied a bunch of parts to me for this thing and...
i think that was njtoolnut that made them but i havent seen that guy on here in a really long time. ed i was thinking the same. you could just drill out an old glow plug, take one of the adapters from the hf kit, cut it and weld them together.
I know you can get a tester at, dare i say, harbor freight for $20 BUT it doesnt have the correct adapter. All the set i have looked at are all for metric glow plugs. These gens are 7/16-20 threads. You would have to make something up
hey guys, if you have questions lets post them in the classified thread i have listed or pm me. the link is in the first post. i dont think the aux forum is the place for this to be. i just posted this thread so you guys would know they were avail.
i think that would be the same as increasing the timing button size. its odd though because this engine was running. all i can think of is that its not building enough compression during cranking to fire it off. once running its spinning quick enough. maybe back when the problem started and it...
